A neighborhood pub 3/18/2010

Great variety of beers on tap with changing specials. Pros: For what it is, it's perfect more

I love their beer 2/21/2010

I love to bring my friends here. The beer and food is always good. I really like them when the outside cafe is open. Pros: A good place to hang Cons: Typical Bar Menu more

Awful Barmaid 2/5/2010

Great Atmosphere, best chicken pot pie and a huge selection of beers. The one star is for the Barmaid, who bitches that the booths are for 3 or more people, but as soon as someone she knows walks in with one other person, she doesn't seem to have a problem seating them in a booth. This has happened on more than one occassion. Won't be going back there anytime soon. When you run an establishment, part of your job is to make your customers feel welcome and treat everyone equally. This Barmaid needs a lesson in that department. Pros: chiken pot pie, beers Cons: Service more

Best place for a Pub Crawl 8/15/2009

I would like to invite everyone to join me August 29th in celebration of the end of this quasi-summer with a night of drinking, dancing, and all out entertainment in Park Slope. Details will be posted at mypubber . com Pros: many more

best in park slope 1/28/2009

hey i go to the ale house like 3 times every year because i live upstate but the food was so great the chicken skewers is the best i ever had it takes a little long but its so worth the wait. the service was fantastic and a busboy i think his name is Cesar was awesome and made sure we were taken care of the burgers are the best in town and the wings is a must have Pros: service and food more

Awful service, mediocre food 1/26/2009

I've given this bar a chance to make up for my previous bad experiences, but time and again the waitstaff keeps disappointing. I'll never go back after my last and worst experience where we were kicked off a table by a group who came after us. Trust me, this place is not worth the horrible service and there are far too many better bars in the area. Pros: Good selection of beer Cons: Horrible service more

Solid, Classic Pub Fare and Atmosphere 1/24/2009

Park Slope Ale House is a great bet if you want a big juicy burger and frothy pints of beer. Atmosphere is nice, and seating outside in the summer is great. Pros: food, beer Cons: less than attentive service more

Great local spot with great food! 9/2/2008

This place has great food at great prices. The location is very low key and casual. There is a great selection of draft and bottled beers. Pros: Beer selection, food, great value, friendly service Cons: we had a multiple servers during our 2 hour visit, got a little confusing more

Average 5/1/2008

Food isn't bad and reasonably priced. They have a decent beer selection, however I'm not sure how they can charge $5 for a Bud Light in Brooklyn. The decor is homely and friendly however seating is a bit tight when crowded. There are 2 tv's on each side of the bar, however one is usually showing soccer. more

I want to like this place 1/16/2008

I love the vibe and the great beer selection. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is everything I want in a neighborhood pub. The problem is the food. It is not good. Even the hamburger is below average, and I always thought a burger was a safe choice and pretty hard to mess up. The chicken fingers are edible, but overdone and with those chewy tendon things in them -- ick. In spite of this, I still want to like this place. I just wish the food was better. Maybe if they pared down the extensive menu and focused on a few pub favorites they'd do a better job in the kitchen. After all, what is a pub without decent grub? Pros: nice neighborhood vibe, great beer selection, friendly staff Cons: the food is mostly inedible more

Great Neighborhood Place 11/21/2006

This is a great place to get a burger and beer with friends. The food is good and fairly cheap, and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. The fried pickle, however, is totally gross. Pros: burgers, beer Cons: fried pickle more

good local place 11/13/2006

i had the brunch special and it was a good value. coffee, a drink, and food for 10 bucks. very friendy service. lots of locals there. Pros: casual more

great place, but the food... 12/16/2005

We've been here several times and like the atmosphere and drinks (great beer selection). however, the food was always so-so at best. the tuna melt tastes bland, and the cesar's salad tasted like fish -- the dressing was definitely off. after we told them they didn't accomodate us. would stick with the beers and basic bar food. wait staff was friendly but not super-attentive. Pros: atmoshphere, beer selection Cons: food, service more

Good Pub Grub 11/25/2005

Park Slope Ale House is one of the places we go when we're stumped at where else to go (Actually, it's typically a toss-up between this and Bonnie's). PSAH has a smorgasborg of choices and always has something for every person. I personally love the chicken burrito and quesedillas. They have a GREAT brunch deal on Sundays (As of this writing, $10 gets you a meal, a coffee/tea and either a bloody mary or a mimosa) and are rarely crowded! The only major complaint that I have is that the menu can be hit-and-miss if you're totally new to it. I'd recommend starting with what you know and then branching out from there. Pros: Multiple menu choices, Great beer on tap, seldom crowded Cons: Spotty menu choices more

Amazing Alehouse! 4/10/2005

Wonderful atmosphere, great music and friendly servers. The drinks are great and this is the best Mac-n-Cheese I've ever had! Nice moody lounge downstairs and there's outside seating!! A nice Sixth Ave location makes it really convenient. Pros: Service, Inexpensive, Friendly more

Great place, BUT... 6/17/2004

Every time we've eaten at the Ale House, it's been a good experience. There's a fantastic beer selection, the bar food is good, and the female bartender is warm and attentive. The last time we went, however, was on the afternoon of the Belmont, obviously a major NYC sporting event. Upwards of 20 people in the bar area were sticking around to watch that race alone, but the manager refused to turn on sound in the main dining/bar area. I suppose she's going for some kind of Jazz Age atmosphere in there, but to ignore the vocal request of the majority of your patrons is rude and unwelcoming! Pros: Beer selection, Bartender, Bar food more

Great place 3/16/2004

The atmosphere is great and the service is very welcoming. I love the food as well. They have great beer on tap that is always cold.... plus the bartender was hot when I was there last. What more do you want..... hot bartender, cold beer, great food and cool..relaxing atmosphere. more
