After almost 20 years finding a new vet ! 10/22/2013

Having been a client here for nearly 20 years, I must now, sadly, give Park Circle Animal Hospital the LOWEST possible rating. Previous vets here were wonderful! My complaint is with Dr.Benjamin Byers. My cat, Sophia, already had cancer surgery there once, performed by him. The Dr. said it may return, which it did. That is NOT my issue. The issue is his ATTITUDE ! He said to my face that he is SICK of being a vet and would quit tomorrow if he won the lottery !!! He also said he told his sons NOT to become vets !!! HUGE RED FLAGS here all over the place !!!! I do NOT want a vet performing surgery on my cat if he feels that way !!!! He was quick to anger, looking for a reason to argue, cold and impersonal. I was SHOCKED at his attitude !!!!! I have been coming here nearly 20 years, and previously pleased with them, always paying my bill in full at the time of service and doing follow-ups. I have found a new vet !!! Too bad... I have spent thousands of dollars there over the years. more

AWESOME!~ 10/4/2006

Please note that this review ONLY includes Dr. Ben and Michelle Byers. Those are the only two I have seen in the practice. I had been to their Smithsburg location which is not full service a few times but it had been a LONG time. I called them early on a Saturday morning and asked them to see a new, sick Puppy! Dr. Ben was GREAT with Winnie sent me home with instructions and said if she wasn't doing any better to call. Well Bright and Early Sunday morning I call and Dr Michelle is on call. She gave me some suggestions and said "if she isn't doing better, call and I will meet you at the office". HOW MANY VETS do this any more???? Cover their own emergency appts???? I LOVED This. Well Dr. Michelle was sure, that Winnie had Parvo and Winnie had to stay overnight, The next day she called to confirm it was Parvo and that Winnie may not make it. They kept her a few days and it was over a week before Winnie seemed "out of the woods". When she was home, she wouldn't' want to eat and they had me call them EVERY day with an update on eating, pottying and such and neither the Dr's. or the office staff acted like they were "bothered" to have me calling again. That is not how you are treated in most vets offices these days. I have a LOT of furbabies and have been to a lot of vets because I wouldn't take my child to a Dr. that acted like they didn't care, why would I take my furbabies to a vet that acts that way. These people are TOP notch, from the office staff that you deal with Checking in/out, the vet tech you see before the vet and both Dr. Byers'! It is so nice with so many to know that I FINALLY ( after my previous vet semi retired) found a vet a can TRUST AND they cover their own emergencies making that stressful time, less stressful for me and my pack! more
