Parking at Honolulu International Airport is $10 per day. This quickly adds up -- one week away in Vegas and you’re looking at a $50 parking tab when you return home.
Park Air Express offers a cheaper alternative. For (slightly) less per day, they’ll let you park at their secure (but unfortunately no covered) facility that’s within five minutes of the airport. They’ll then shuttle you to the terminal of your choice in one of their mini-buses (much more convenient than when they used 15-passenger vans).
When you return, simply call the number on the card they give you (Lost it? Look for the sign in the baggage claim area) and they’ll send the shuttle to pick you up.
The cost? The current rate is $9 per day, which is not much less than the airport’s own parking. Does the $1 per day savings outweigh having to wait for the shuttle? Probably not on short trips.
They do offer value-add services such as detailing, and if you visit their web site you can clip a coupon for a slight discount. I also noticed that they offer a complimentary copy of the Honolulu Advertiser newspaper (on Sunday too).
** August 30, 2005 edit: revised to show the rate increase to $9 a day; due to the increase, I've dropped them down to three stars, as it's definitely not the value it used to be. **
