Papi's Tex Mex Grill

I grew up in Texas and have eaten Mexican Food all my life. I can honestly say this is the BEST mexican food I have ever eaten! We drive from Southlake to Argyle to eat it, and I would drive twice as far if I had to! more

This restaurant is horrible. In the summer it is so hot in there that all the waiters are sweating because the owner will not let them where shorts. The A/C does not work well and they think a fan will cool the restaurant in this hot Texas weather. It always feels dirty. The food is horrible and the drinks are watery. The only reason they are busy is because they are the only restaurant in Argyle. Pros: No Pros Cons: Food & Not clean more

My family is made up of Mexican food Lovers!!! My husband lived in San Antonio long enough to know all the best places and to develop a real taste for Mexican food. He prefers the REAL stuff over the TEXMEX...Papi's is one of the closest things that we have found in the Denton area. I give Papi's 4 Stars because of the Food. We love the Scott's Special and can't get enough of the Special Green Sauce. I do think that they have some room for improvement when it comes to the service. It always seems to take a while to be seated when it is busy, and they have a small waiting area. More than once we have been left standing to wait in a crowd when empty tables were visible. I don't understand that, but I have a little more patience when I am waiting on good food. Most of the wait staff is of the High School variety, and could use a little more training, but again....GOOD FOOD is a great motivator to overlook some things. With a little work they will be 5 Star in my book, until then I will wait or just order take out and enjoy it at home.
