Paper Bear has been in San Marcos a long time, and once you've been it's easy to see why. This is a huge shop that carries everything fun - stickers, paper, cards, gifts, toys, etc. This is the kind of place that would be driven out of business by a larger corporate stores if it were in a larger town and I'm so glad that hasn't happened. If you live in the area or are passing through San Marcos, I definitely recommend it. more

I love this store and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for that a special gift.This store is unique and has been around for about 20 years in San Marcos. They carry cards for all occasions, posters, model airplanes, thomas the train items, jewelry , collectibles .and stuffed animals.... I found so many things to look at and really neat gifts for family members. It takes hours to see everything they have and you will enjoy yourself while looking around. The staff is friendly and helpful. . I will continue to go back there because they have such a good assortment. This store is easy to get too, limited parking. more

Completely awesome! Something for everyone! 9/23/2005

Paper Bear is definitely worth a visit! The place is huge and you could spend hours just browsing and looking at everything. There is something for everyone here including unique jewelry, collectible items (like Department 56), stationery and scrapbooking supplies, toys for children, party supplies, and a variety of other unique gifts. They also have candy! Their prices are reasonable and the staff is not pushy. They will let you walk around and browse at your leisure, but are available to help and answer questions when you need them to! more

Greatest Gift Store Ever! 8/1/2005

This store is the be-all-end-all of gift stores. Because there are so many items, it takes about 2 hours to look at everything in the store, so go when you have plenty of time to shop. You can find almost anything you are looking for in here. There is a card, party, and stationery section. There is a jewelry section with an assortment of reasonably priced jewelry. There are knick knacks all over the store that just call to you to buy them from glasswares to candles to bath scents. There is even a toy room, which is any child's dream! more
