Skip it and save yourself the frustration and heartburn. Went with a big group from work that was prearranged so that they could be prepared. They weren't. The food was bad, cold, and was delivered over the course of an hour-and-a-half - so entrees were served sometimes 30 minutes apart at the same table! All service staff appeared to care less, but the bar tending staff ruined the night for all by being belligerent. more

All of the bread is made fresh daily. The ingredients are superb. I have tried numerous items on the menu and have found them all to be exquisite. PaPa J's does Italian food right. They use simplistic, perfected recipes; thus, they offer a true authentic Italian dining experience. I have not found too many matches, save for Roma, Italy. The cooking style was very Southern Italy. The pasta, sausage, and sauce was excellent and tasted homemade. I would definately take my customers to the restaurant. Pros: Wonderful appetizers Cons: Service was very slow, limited staff. Overpriced more

I have had nothing but great experiences at PaPa J's. This is by far my favorite place to take family, friends and co-workers. I love the white pizza, spinach and feta pasta, veal meatballs...I could go on and on.. They do make their bread fresh everyday. I see the baker there at 6:30 on my way to work. The staff is always friendly and considerate, my food is always hot and delicious and I am always happy, as well as my guests. They have now added outdoor seating which makes for a romantic summer night date with my husband. Go to PaPa J's, you'll be glad you did. Pros: The best food anywhere! more

I went to this restaurant for a date, and it was awful... The service was horrible, and they were not even busy. The food was cold when delievered to us and my pasta had a hair in it... when my date informed the waitress, she said she would get a new plate but never returned... We ended up having to pay our (ridiculosly high, and not a cent off for the hair issue) bill to the manager as we left, because she never came back. It was one of the worst dining experiences we ever had, and I am not picky. But when it comes to quality, this place is not it. It is beyond me how they are still in business. We went there for lunch today expecting a nice meal. I chose the talapia sandwich. After waiting for what seemed to be a half hour, my sandwich came. Upon inspection I noticed what appeared to be MOLD on my bread. I decided not to make a scene, as there were many other patrons in the dining room. But also our waitress did not even come back to our table. We actually had to walk to the front and request our bill. At which time we informed the cashier about the mold and she told our waitress who quietly told her that they used sandwich bread left from yesterday. They did not offer to remove the sandwich from our bill or even apologize. In fact the cashier reassured us that they bake their bread fresh every day. I guess she did not think we heard her conversation with our waitress! I really would rather not eat at a restaurant in Carnegie and pay the prices that they are charging, especially when my food comes with mold! more
