Papa Dan's Pizza & Pasta

Just went in for lunch because the nearby deli was full, basically my senior mother ordered an all-you-can-eat salad and soup. She was full on the soup and hadn't started to eat her salad. So me mr common sense asked for a to go box for the salad she never started. Watier refused, made an embarrassing ordeal, saying it was restaurant policy to not allow take outs on all-you-can-eat ordering. I was embarrassed that other patrons in the restaurant had to witness this insanity. I explained that she did not touch her salad, that this was not the third salad she was on, that she never touched her first salad, so it was totally reasonable in my opinon to ask for a to go box for the uneaten first generation salad. I asked for the rude waiter to send for the manager. He said the manager was not around. There was a tense minute of silence. Then finally, a busboy brought out a packaged salad to go. The waiter came back and said he did not want to lose his job over packing the salad to go but would allow it. I ended up giving the packaged salad back to the busboy who had tried to giving it to me furious, my lunch ruined by the whole affair. As far as the wine quality of the house merlot, inferior to Marios. I am not a huge fan of Marios, but the house merlot tasted better. The pizza is also better at Mario's. Shakeys sitll has the best pizza IMO, which needs a location in the East Coachella Valley. Its not trendy or LA, but vitally necessary for us average folks. more

This place is the worst for delivery. Usually they circle my neighborhood 6 times after telling them specific instructions (how hard is 1st right 1st left?) Tonight was the icing on the cake. I ordered a double mushroom pizza. I got a mushroom and sausage pizza. I called, they said it would be another hour. I waited, the next pizza was also sausage and mushroom. The delivery guy even confirmed it! They were rude on the phone, told me it was something called ""crisp-it"". As a jewish person, I know what sausage looks like. Order from somewhere else...the pizza isn't that great anyways. more

I called this so called little Italian restaurant to see if they serve Cappuccino's and he laughed at me and hung up! If you are an authentic Italian place you would be proud to say that you serve something that is truely Italian. If not just say you don't have it. I will never go there, that was very rude. more

I've been going to eat at this place for years now! It is really a treasure and the food is fantastic. You've gotta try their calzones and that mega pizza, the papa dan. This place does not go cheap on their toppings like dominios; there's so much that the pizza sometimes has to be eaten with a fork and knife! I love this place and I would recommend it to anyone. Their menu is huge and does not stop at just pizza! Definately try them out for your self! I'm sure you'd agree. Pros: Food is great and affordable. Good selection of toppings and menu items. Everything is very freshly made. Delivery too! Cons: older building more

Papa Dan's came highly recommended, we were very excited to eat there. However, we were brought the wrong drinks, the fettucine alfredo w/ chicken was brought out w/o the chicken! We also thought that fettucine alfredo was a safe bet for a delicious meal - wrong, unfortunately. Noted the decline is service and food to wait staff and comments seemed to fall of deaf ears. Hope to see Papa Dan's return to former quality and standards for service and food. Cons: Quality, Service, Taste more
