India Ennis tries to offer “all things to all people” at her cozy Smith Street location. She designed the menu and partnered with a local wine store to hand select the 20 Italian wines on the menu (all of Panino’teca’s wines are available at Smith & Vine). The wine list centers on offbeat and affordable varietals. Currently, Ennis is touting the Rapitala wines of Sicily. The Casalj white ($8 for a carafina which Ennis describes as a “glass and a half”) combines the catarratto grape with a French chardonnay grape to create a unique blend exuding the flavors or sage, tomato leaves and capers. This is a good match for the dandelion salad ($8) or some antipasto.
