Go for breakfast, skip lunch and dinner. 4/12/2006

If you're looking for coffee and a bagel or pastry this is a great place. They must put their best people on staff in the morning, cause the service is quick and genial and the food is great. If you go later.... watch out... terrible service, the food is sub-par, and the overall experience is disappointing. It's too bad, cause it used to be a great lunch place.. but now.. for the price.. I'd rather pick up a salad or sandwich from the Publix down the street! more

Panera Bread..going downhill 3/22/2006

I eat at this Panera Bread in Melbourne a few times a month because it is fairly close to my home and is a good alternative to fast food. When it first opened I was very pleased with their food and service. Unfortunately they haven't continued to offer the freshest food and great service. Lately it seems that the lettuce and other produce used for the salads and sandwiches aren't as fresh as they used to be and some of the sandwiches I have eaten their recently just seem haphazardly thrown together without much attention to presentation. Their soups are good although sometimes they fail to vary them enough. I have been there numerous times when there weren't enough clean tables and the employees aren't rude but are not overly friendly either. I still eat there because it's convenient but I would say the have gone from great to mediocre in the past year. more
