My new compulsive food destination. 3/15/2011

The incredible puffs, cupcakes and cookies are baked on the premises: this kind of freshness doesn't lie! The sandwich-size puff filled with ham and brie is a great treat. The soups are hearty and delicious. Had a chicken soup (made in house) so filled with meat, it would have been a perfect lunch, but of course I couldn't turn down a few just-out-of-the-oven cupcakes. Another draw: there are some great art galleries just a few feet away, part of the new and very vital Lower East Side art hub, which has grown around the New Museum on the Bowery. This makes Panade the perfect destination for a spring stroll with gallery hopping. more

BEST CREAM PUFFS & CUPCAKES --EVER!! 3/15/2011

The dark chocolate cream puff and vanilla-cream chocolate cupcake are the best I have ever tried! Bought pastry boxes of cupcakes and cream puffs to give as gifts- always perfect!! Have been back many times and the food is consistently delicious! The ham & cheese savory puffs melt in your mouth when served warm! ...Craving a cupcake right now!! more

Will definitely try it again :) 8/22/2007

I brought a dozen dessert puffs to a dinner party and there wasn't a single one left over. They are a perfect balance of a toasty puff pastry with a rich, creamy filling. It's not too sweet nor heavy. I'm looking forward to trying the green tea one next time. Pros: Flavor of fresh ingredients comes through. more

Better than the place with that ""bearded guy"" 8/27/2006

Wonderful puffs that come in both sweet and savory fillings. I find the puffs in that ""other"" cream puff place in the Village to be just okay--the vanilla filling is alright, but I find the pastry shell to be a little bland and dry. Panade's puff pastry has a little bit more flavor and the chocolate ones are so good. Even better, Panade makes awesome thumbprint cookies: so buttery and with a tender crumb. You can't just have one, they're so addictive. more

Delectable Delights -- it's puffs galore! 7/20/2006

I stumbled upon this quaint and cozy storefront one Sunday morning. Its specialty is puffs. All kinds...sweet, savory, even a sandwich-like portion. I've tried the chocolate, cheese, and the spinach+feta cheese+pine nuts. It's lite and not too oily. It's got a good texture and so far I liked the chocolate one the best. The owner is friendly and I consider myself a regular already. Perfect place to grab something on the go or just sit down for a nice chat with the owner =) Pros: An interesting array of pastry puffs more
