Pam's Pets & Fish

I'm only writing this after reading the other 1 star reviews on this page. Having worked in different animal backgrounds I can say this store is really well kept especially compared t OK so many other pet shops out there where I have seen many unhealthy living conditions. A few facts I'd like to mention. Mites are very host specific and cannot infect a snake if hosting a rat. If a snake regurgitates food the snake is in a very stressful living condition most occasions. I personally use the reverse osmosis that pams offers for my pets at home. And I happen to know they also offer Pre mixed reverse osmosis salt water after speaking with one of the employees. I really appreciate this store certainly standing in a time when big businesses can be overpowering. Thank you pams and you can count on my returned business more

asked Pam's Pets to help me obtain some pinkie mice feeders for some expensive baby snakes I have. They need to eat soon or they will not make it. A quick phone call to their mouse supplier would have helped me tremendously, however they would rather save that few bucks of revenue for themselves. They dismissed my issue as if there were none. The staffs knowledge on their animals is subpar but it has always been a place I could get what I needed. Not anymore. They have lost a long time customer. more

Good: we usually have not problems there but now its a whole diffrent story...we bought a big white rat for a snake and now we have had to replace a cage & the snakes we have 2 now have mites we cant get ride of..the rat had mites our snake regurutated him back up and ifected our snakes we have tried everything toget rid of the mites now our 800.00 snakes r prolly at a loss what shall we do?. more

How old are you 5? Pams Pets is a great store for a small hicktown like abilene. I moved out here from dallas and its a 90 minute rt drive for me to pams... the staff is friendly and they do special orders....guys like Steve P arent serious fish keepers if they cant find RO, if he was he would have it setup in his house... more

The reviews on here are false, & ppl writting them are idiots!!! Pam's Pets in Abilene sucks. They DO NOT ever have fish (you liars) in stock at anytime when you go in the store, they are also way over priced!! At times they DO NOT have R/O water for salt water tanks. Now, you tell me... how do you sell salt water tank and not have R/O water? The most basic necessity for salt water tanks. There are too many things to write about. You ppl writing your reviews are ignorant!!!! I guess you think if you are nice Dave will give you a break on prices, huh? idiots!!! more

This is the cleanest, neatest pet store I have even been in. It doesn't have an odor like many pet stores. The employees are helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable. more

Pam's Pets is a small pet store on the north side of Abilene. They provide for many of your pets needs without the uncaring feel of the larger pet chains. When you go into Pam's Pets you are met with a smile and a caring sales staff who are there to answer your questions about your pet and pet care. They have a small selection of marine fish, and unfortunately their marine fish is what brings down the rating. They just don't have a a very good selection. But they have a great selection of tropical fish and any other needs of your pet. Stop in for happy and caring service. more

I do enjoy going to Pams Pets and looking at the fish. They usually have a good variety and they are very knowledgeable. They have a good selection of pet products, which I have used on a number of occasions. This is a good store for the personal care that is missing in bigger pet stores. To me though they seem a bit high priced, but it seems like they are more willing to negotiate now that there is more competition in Abilene. more

They had a variety of fish to choose from. They also carry birds, reptiles, hamsters,etc. They had some really cool fish in the back section of the store. On the weekends they have people there who will let you adopt a dog or kitten. It's a neat store. The staff seemed to be very knowledgable. We had questions about salt water tanks and they really answered everything. more
