You pay for the view at Palisade, not the food quality. Once again I see it as a chef who cares more about being fancy than putting out the best meal. Most chefs I know are not in...

Beautiful View 7/15/2003

We went to Palisade with my husband for a Sunday brunch and loved it! The view is superb and the atmosphere is great. The open buffet featured fresh exotic fruits, various salads and delicious pastries as well as mini pancakes with nuts inside. The service was impeccable and our waitress was very polite and attentive. I would recommend this place, especially for special occasions and for out of town guests. Pros: Complimentary Valet, Polite Staff, Beautiful View more

Breathtaking views 3/11/2003

The Palisade restaurant is the one place that I go when I want to have a memorable evening. No matter where you are seated, the views are wonderful. I love to go there as the sun is setting behind the Olympic mountains. If I turn around to see my husband's view, the Seattle skyline lighting up, one office window at a time, is equally beautiful. Everything I have ever tasted there is beyond my expectations, and the blown glass artwork and indoor aquarium-type setup only adds to the experience. more

Very Nice! 2/19/2003

I've dined there twice now when in the mood for a little luxury. First time was excellent - had the best crab cakes and filet mignion, our server was the best - very pleasant and served us without fault. Second visit was a little off, food was very good but our server seemed distracted and a little slow but it was New Year's Eve so that may have been it. more

Fantastic 2/16/2003

I took my best friend here for his 18th birthday and even though we were young all the staff was very polite and made our visit very enjoyable. The food was the best, and the view was beautiful. They even put rose petals down upon the table along with a birthday card for my friend, very impressive! I will definatly come back! Pros: service, food, view Cons: far more

Good, but ... 1/8/2003

After having lived in Seattle for 11 years, I FINALLY got to Palisade recently. For a place that is frequently mentioned among Seattle's best restaurants, I have to say I was a bit disappointed. Nothing was wrong, per se. The food was good, the menu was good, the service was good, it's a beautiful building with a great view, etc. But, I thought it just didn't have any flare or feel and had a chain/corporate edge to it. A very good restaurant? Yes. One of the best in Seattle and a good value for the price? Close, but not quite. Pros: Wide menu, good wine list, good food Cons: Corporate, too expensive, deserts more

Visiting from Portland, friends had told me about Palisade -- What a treat! The ambiance is exceptional from the first steps through the door, as is the service. Our server was efficient, knowledgable and gracious -- and the food was some of the best that I have had in the Northwest. I will be telling friends and aquaintances about my visit to Palisade for some time to come! Pros: Romantic Ambiance more

NW Favorite 11/27/2002

This has long been one of our favorite restaurants. Consistently good quality food and great service. Whether for lunch or dinner, we have never been disappointed when entertaining friends or family. Its fabulous view only adds to the overall enjoyment when dining at Palisade. Pros: good parking, great view more

Works for me... 6/24/2002

I love going to Palisade because of the food, service, and view. I've been to Palisade roughly 10 times, and have always had great food/service. Only once were the dinner orders screwed up, and they not only fixed it, but gave us a gift certificate to come back and use. I have a hard time believing some of the negative reviews. My experiences there have always been great. My one complaint is the Guava-ritas. These drinks are sooo good, they're addictive. Which I guess is why management feels they can now make them smaller than they used to, and still charge 7 or 8 bucks a pop. more

I just don't get it 5/27/2002

I have heard nothing but rave reviews about this restaurant for years. Well we finally ventured down for my mother in laws 60th birthday. The service was terrible and the food was not all that fabulous. The waitress brought me the wrong order (it took so long to correct that I ended up not eating), spilled a drink on my husband and completely forgot my pregnant sister in laws meal. We then had to haggle about the bill. They expected us to pay for a meal that never arrived and another that arrived at dessert. Bad, bad, bad! Pros: view, good parking, great pond Cons: service, location, loud more
