Nice place, but rude... 10/30/2011

I've been looking online at various stables for my daughter and decided to go to Painted Oaks today because of the fall festival it advertises on its website to get a feel for the place. Well, it is a beautiful place and the grounds are well maintained. The school horses used for rides appear well taken care of. I met one of the instructers as we were milling around and she seemed very nice. But (you knew that was coming), when my daughter finally decided she wanted to ride one of the horses, we had been standing by the fence for about five minutes. I saw people going in and out of the arena, so I started to walk my daughter in and a woman yelled at us to get out and "don't you see the gate is closed? That means stay out." If it weren't for my daughter wanting to ride, I'd have turned around and walked out. I believe this was the owner, but I'm not sure, since she did not bother to introduce herself or ask if we had any questions. Rather, she asked if we were riding or doing a hay ride (i.e. lawn mower pulling a smally wagon). When we said just a ride, she said, "That's $5." And she proceeded to write a big "P" (paid?) on my 5-year-old's hand with a SHARPIE. Ummmm, hello? That's a permanent marker!! I was really disappointed. Other than being a bit disorganized, it seemed like a nice place. Until I had contact with that woman..... That attitude will not attact new business! Needless to say, we'll find another place for my daughter's lessons. more

Summer Camp Fun 7/8/2010

We would highly recommend bringing your Child to Painted Oaks for their Summer Camp. We have been going to another Farm off Rouse Road for the last two years until a friend told us about Painted Oaks. The other ranch was more expensive and only ran until 2pm which was a problem for me because I had to work until 5pm. My Husband is recently unemployed and lkooking for work so the lower cost and convienience of the ALL DAy Camp was just what we needed. They have a wonderful Ranch on the econ river just behind UCF on Tanner & Lk Pickett. My Daughter Carmen is now 8yrs old Loves horses and can ride. They spent time working with her riding skills and the classes only have 6-8 students per week with special attention to each student. The Camp had a A/C Bunk House for crafts and a Pool for cooling off during the heat of this summer. Mrs. Lisa was wonderful to work with, and the facility was well kept and Safe (Not Quite as RUSTIC and run Down like the Devon Place. She also had Adults working and helping with the Camp which made me feel more comfortable by not leaving my 8 yr old in the care of 10 year olds like the other place.! I would highly recommend bringing your Child to Painted Oaks, Awesome, Safe and Reasonable in these trying times and BAD economy.. THANK YOU FOR ALL DAY CAMPS, everyone should be doing this! I hope they all get the message! TImes are HARD! This makes it more affordable, otherwise she would be staying home with grandma all summer! Thanks Lisa Donna & Carmen Pros: Affordable Safe and Fun more

DONT GO 2 PAINTED OAKS 7/4/2010

i think that its really sad to see a woman who will do anything to get a good review. Lisa to be quiet honest i don't even understand. you can stop pretending to be some"UCFMoM" who takes their child to painted oaks. You know how you run your place and to anyone who doesn't know anything about horses would think that its good place to "learn how to ride". You just in it for the money. When you see a horse you don't see an magnificent animal. You see dollar signs. And your exact words "Its a business. . ." Well your a horrible business woman. its nice to act like you love horses. . but in reality you don't. Letting your children run around the place and you yelling during a lesson isn't very professional. Another thing is the way you talk to people. You should take a speech class and learn how to have a real conversation with a person. I think you understand and get along with the students more than you do with the parents. The only thing you know how to talk to parents about is getting your money. You don't even know how to ride properly. its pretty dam sad. Pros: The horses are amazing Cons: the owner is a rude ass bitch more

AMAZING!!!! 4/25/2010

I have been a boarder at painted oaks for about 6 or 7 years now and could not be happier. This is by FAR the best equestrian stable in orlando (with resonable prices). Lisa, the owner is one of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Being a transplant patient, Lisa has made every accomidation for me as possible. She cares so much for others she seems to make sacrafices so others can enjoy the wonderful world of equines. Her horses are FAR from sick. Most of her horses do about 3 or 4 lessons max a day so completely not overworked. In my 6 years there I have only seen 2 horses put down because of reasons beyond anyones control. She is a WONDERFUL mother (I should know, i have adopted her as my own second mother). The facilities of this barn are absolutly beautiful. The 60 foot round pen and the riding arena as well as open fields and a county conroled trail are all right there on the beautiful green 10 acres. All of the borders and workers at the barn are very helpful and nice and DRAMA FREE!!!!!!!!!!! I dont know what more you could possibly ask for! Would recomend this barn to any one and every one! Pros: EVERYTHING!!! Cons: Cant think of any... more

Re: Soccer Coach Mom 4/22/2010

I am a long time trainer of Lisa's and can honestly tell you she's a very proffesional, sweet animal loving person. The two thin horses that people see in the front are 20+ years old and do not hold weight like the others. They are happy retired horses. As for the other horses' work schedule, one to two hours a day is a vacation resort for a lesson horse. Lisa has a full board of well taken of horses and too many satisfied riding lesson clients to count. I believe the clients and horses make a true testament to her proffesionalism. Pros: Very child oriented, animal lover's heaven more

great place for the kids! 4/21/2010

I am a trainer at Painted Oaks and I have to strongly disagree with "soccer mom" on her rating. Painted Oaks is a great place for kids to come to learn about horses in a safe and fun environment. Lisa is very accommodating to each child's needs, which is very rare to find at most barns. She is extremely willing to work with each child on a case-by-case basis, from the most skilled rider to taking on special needs students that most riding instructors would turn away from their lesson programs. Maybe "soccer mom" dislikes her laid-back atmosphere, but in my opinion, it is easier to learn and have fun in a laid-back atmosphere than at a farm that is all about showing and competing. However, painted oaks does show and compete locally when students are ready, but they encourage fun and happy shows that are not just about winning, even though they do bring back lots of ribbons from the shows as well! Pros: great place to learn how to ride more

Highly Recommended!! 4/21/2010

My daughter is 7 and started weekly lessons at Painted Oaks a year ago with Miss Lisa. She loves the "farm" as we call it. Miss Lisa is very good with children. My daughter loves her riding lessons. The horses are well kept and friendly and the atmosphere is wholesome and fun. My daughter attended summer camp for a week last year and I plan on sending her again this year. I've found Miss Lisa to be dedicated, hardworking and extremely professional in all respects. Sincerely, Louise Frangoul Pros: Very Child Friendly Cons: None more

extremely unprofessional 4/20/2010

I took my daughter here for awhile to improve her riding skills. I have 20 years experience with horses so I knew this was a bad place to be shortly after starting there. Lisa, the owner, teaches lessons but she has no clue what she's doing. She's rude and unprofessional. When she "teaches" lessons, she basically ignores her students and gossips with the parents. She made my child cry several times before I finally decided I couldn't take her there anymore. She has two young children that run around barefoot screaming and yelling in the barn and the arena. She doesn't take care of her horses very well. Most of them are underweight and very overworked. Those poor ponies have to do a ton of lessons everyday with no days off. Her horses also constantly get sick and I've seen several get put down. DO NOT BOARD HERE! you're stupid if you take lessons here, but you're a MORON if you trust Lisa to take care of your horse. Pros: cheap Cons: you get what you pay for more

Great place for family fun and horseback riding lessons 3/9/2010

I would advise anyone that has horses or wants lessons in horseback riding to go to Painted Oaks. The atmosphere is very family oriented. The grounds and facilty is kept very nice and clean. The employees are friendly and very helpful. My family enjoys going there very much. The owner is very sweet and knowledgable. Again I would highly recommend going there. Pros: family oriented Cons: none more

Sucks 12/13/2009

painted oaks academy is a great beginners place to start riding. other than that the owner does not know that much about horses nor does even know how to ride. there is only 2 horses which are do really well. other than that she doesn't have any other horses. Most of her horses are thin. The owner t is very rude and doesn't have a very good personality. The arena is always in a disarray. if you go to her website. she has pictures of women modeling as well as their websites which show off very doing very sexual things. This is suppose to be a clean family environment. and it is not. Pros: Great beginner place to ride more
