Good: You can usually tell the quality of a Mexican restaurant by the quality of its chips and salsa. Padres does NOT disappoint. Not only are the chips and salsa excellent, but many of the other items are also hard to top. My absolute favorite is the Acapulco dinner. Another go-to meal is the Jumbo Chalupa, which is a bit like a taco salad, with shrimp and chicken. Other items that I really like are the Fried Burrito and the Tamales. Bad: Every once in a while, you will get a waitress that acts like she would rather be doing ANYTHING else other than waiting tables. Typical teenagers, I guess.. Other: I am not sure what the other reviewers are talking about... the food at Padres has always been outstanding. Not to mention, THEY HAVE A PATIO, which is wonderful on days that allow comfortable outdoor dining (summer nights are the best)..
