A True Professional! 11/4/2011

My family and I have been taking our pets to Dr. Shortall since 1970! For 41 years he has been the absolute best with all our dogs and cats!! He is quiet and caring and your pet and its health will be his primary concern. It is so obvious that he still LOVES what he does and LOVES the animals (with a very special place for the big kitties in our lives!). He is not into this to make mountains of money, but he could make so much more if he wanted to. Instead, his fees are very fair and he will not pressure you into expensive tests. Dr. Shortall is an exemplary professional who does an incredible job with every pet. I recommend him to all my friends and I always will. more

Best York Road Vet 4/28/2011

Another high-price, high-tech Hunt Valley vet could never correctly diagnose my pet's skin problem...Dr. Shortall quickly recommended the right medicine without a vast array of costly tests and my dog's troublesome skin condition disappeared. I can always get in on time...something the other york road hospital could never do-and paying the bill is always fast and easy, too. I think he is an exceptional and kind vet and very accessible. 3 cheers for Dr. Shortall and his staff. more

Best Vet Ever 11/2/2010

When my husband brought home an eight week old german shepherd puppy, i looked on line for info on vets and chose Dr. Shortall based on the reviews. Now I would not take my dog any where else. The prices are reasonable and the service is great.\r The ladies in the office are awesome and very helpful.\r Charlie says Hi! more

Dr. William Robert Shortall Is The Best Veternarian!!! 3/30/2010

Dr. William Robert Shortall is located at Padonia Veterinary Hospital in Cockeysville, Maryland. My husband and I have been taking our pets to Dr. Shortall's office for years and he is by far the best Veternarian. He is so upfront and honest about his diagnosis and you can tell he truly loves animals. I recommend all of my friends and family members to Dr. Shortall. He is an amazing Veternarian!!!! more

World Class Vet 11/16/2009

I am sure there are very good vets throughout Maryland but none can surpass the professionalism and caring that Dr. Shortall and his staff show each time I have taken my dog there. Our family has been taking our beagles to him for 44 years and he is just as wonderful now as he was back on day one. I don't live as close as I use to, but I will make the extra time to take my beagle to him because I want the best for one of my family. Thank God for him and his staff. more

Best Vet in Town! 10/7/2009

Awesome! Client for 35 years with two dogs and many cats through these years. No unnecessary procedures and reasonable rates. Great Doctor and wonderful staff. Extremely compassionate! more

Dr Shortall is the best 10/5/2009

We have two dogs. We have been taking them to Dr S for years. Dr S isn't big on initiating small talk on his own but he does thoroughly answer any questions you ask him. Once you get to know him you realize what a great spirit he has. more

You truly can't find a better vet 9/28/2009

Dr. Shortall and his staff are the best. It's like taking your kid to a great pediatrician: they care about our pets and treat us with dignity and respect. He is more than fair with his fees and is able to diagnose without extensive (read expensive) tests. I highly recommend him. more

Padonia Veterinary Hospital 7/21/2008

We have used this veternarian for over 20 years. He is compassionate and caring and the animals have done very well with him. He has even seen a pet rodent for one of our daughters. He offers good advice and seems genuinely concerned about the patients. He is a great vet. You have to get to know him because he is reserved, the animals are his prime concern and he does an excellent job with them. Pros: Excellent animal care more

old school professional 6/23/2008

We have been going to Padonia Veterinary Hospital with our two dogs and two cats since moving here. Dr. Shortall is not a chatty vet who makes lots of small talk. He is, however, an old school professional that cares deeply about the animals and gives sound advice. Our cat was ill and had he been more monetarily driven, he could have run hundreds of dollars of expensive tests to give me the bad news. Instead, he told me the prognosis (which was obvious to those with training and experience) without the tests, thus doing what was right for our cat and saving us the fees. I think he is wonderful. more

Queit and gentle vet 8/25/2006

Dr. Shortall is a very quiet, reserved man but he has a gentle way with animals and is an excellent veterinarian. He has a small office on York Road in Cockeysville, very clean and with a large waiting area so that you don't have to sit too close to someone else's scary looking dog (or cat). \r \r The staff is friendly and outgoing and there is ample parking and some grassy areas to walk the dog before or after his ordeal! more
