I just want to give Packerland the congratulation it deserves. I have been a loyal customer for years and I never hesitate to let all of my family and friends know how great they are. I work in customer service and have done so for many years and NEVER have I seen such exceptional service! The receptionist know everyone by name, the tech's and assistants make you feel right at home and the doctors take the time to explain everything in detail so you feel very comfortable making decisions for your loved ones. They truely are a wonderful people and I only wish MY health care team was as great as my pets health care team! Thank you Packerland!!! more

horrible in your time of need 3/22/2010

I was a client of Packerland for over 9 years and never had any major issues, just brought in pets for the standard and one cat with a kidney infection. A couple weeks ago thought, we had an emergency and our youngest cat went into kidney failure. I can't even explain how traumatic my experience was at Packerland. They discuss procedures that cost thousands of dollars and talked you into things using scare tactics, basically if you don't do this your cat will die, etc. They were telling me things like cancer, etc. and offering all these expensive options including surgery. I was also told that if she started throwing up again after I brought her home that she probably wasn't doing better and I'd have to bring her back in and think about "making a decision". Well, she did start throwing up again over the weekend. I had to say my goodbye's etc. and send her with my husband to the emergency vet to have her put down, only to find out that she was actually getting better! In the end, it was a kidney infection and at the end of 2 weeks of antibiotics and special food she was back to normal. Tell me again why I had to pay $880 which included x-rays for a kidney infection? I understand she needed treatment and IV fluids, but I did not deserve the mistreatment and unnecessary procedures and trip to the emergency vet which costs another $350 for a kidney infection! I feel I was mislead and lied to. When my husband tried to discuss this with them over the next two weeks, but they basically wrote us off and said there was nothing they would do and then, in not so many words, said that we needed marriage counseling and insinuated my husband may be abusive, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! This is how you treat your clients of 9 years! We have since transferred all of our records to Parkside and have had great follow up care with them. more

BEWARE! 8/10/2009

I've found that if you adopt an animal from an animal shelter and they bring that animal to this clinic, they do not take it as seriously as if it were already a family pet! I was given comments such as "well this is already a 300 dollar surgery your receiving for free.." I do not think this clinic has your animals best interest at heart! First of all, they are the ones that are affiliated with the animal shelter so if they dont want to do it then why dont they jsut take themselves off the "list" at the shelter!? Please think carefully about where you bring your loved pets!! more

dont go here! 8/8/2009

I recently adopted a pet from the Humane Society and was referred to this clinic to get my rabbit spayed. I asked several times if my rabbit was too small or too young for this procedure and was told by two people at the Packerland Veterinary Center that she was not. I was told to pick her up after 3pm on the day of her spaying and that they would call if there were any problems. I was not called until after 2pm that day and was told that they didn't know if she would make it because they noticed a hole in her intestine after surgery which could have been caused from the surgery. I was then called 40 minutes later and told she had died and that she may have been to small for this surgery and she was under too long due to the hole in her intestine. Why was I not called until so late if the surgery was performed early in the morning? There are a lot of unanswered questions and I would not bring another animal to this clinic. more
