My first surgery was for Left Carpal Tunnel with Dr. Bergman in 2009. I had outstanding care and was out of recovery and on my way home within 30 minutes after surgery.
The second surgery was Right Knee Arthroscopy, with Dr. Hoekema in April of 2014. The time waiting for surgery was far too long. Your scheduling system needs major work. The care was great and the nursing staff really showed professionalism and care.
My third surgery was on Dec 15, 2014 and was for the left thumb joint replacement with Dr. Bergman.
I requested to be the first surgery of morning only to be called after 6pm on Dec. 12 stating I had bumped. They did not even call the correct phone number. I requested that my cell phone number be called for any changes etc. Instead my Mothers number was called.
Surgery was over a hour later than the time I was rescheduled to.
The Anesthesiologist was extremely unprofessional, He seemed awfully full of himself, He needs to leave his jokes at home. That might be ok with Children, NOT ADULTS.
I said three times that I did not want to wake up nauseated!! I do not know what type of mediation I was given. I have never in my life had such a horrible time coming out of anesthesia.
Nursing keep saying I was knocking myself in the face with the hand I just had operated on and put it under the covers to try to stop me from doing it!
I specifically requested not to wake up nauseated. It took me over 2 hours to wake up. I threw up all the way home. The anti nausea medication did not work well or at all. I may be overweight but the amount of sedation he gave me was enough for 6 people. Maybe he should pay more attention to what he is giving and the amount given.
Dr. Bergman was fantastic and Christina in recovery was wonderful and took such good care of me.
