After reading the 2 bad reviews below, I almost passed up this place, thankfully I didn't. I called and received an appt the same day and was in and out as fast as any vet that I've been to.\r \r I normally don't take the time to write reviews like this but because of the negative remarks I had to defend this clinic.\r \r I asked the front office staff if they knew about these negative reviews and they said it was a complete misunderstanding and they tried but there was nothing they could do to make this person happy.\r \r IMHO, the 2 reviewers, or most likely the same person posting as 2 people, is a complete uptight a-hole. Dr Keiss has cared for our animals since the day we found our cat, FLAT from vomiting all night, almost dead. She is a great problem solver. Dr. Keiss saved his life several times over, since the allergic reaction our cat had (from vaccinations given by a different vet) damaged his digestive system and ultimately his liver. Over the past 18 or 19 years she has been a truly wonderful caregiver for our 4 cats and our dog, and their humans. Her kindness extends to all the members of our family, as we have lost a couple of our four-legged friends to old age (18 and 21 years old). PB Vet Clinic is staffed by great people! My neighbor highly recommended PB Veterinary Clinic on Garnet. I went and was very happy with both the doctor, the staff, and the prices! Both the staff and the doctor were very knowledgeable and caring. Therefore, I can unequivocably highly recommend this clinic! more

We did not like Pacific Beach Vet Clnc at all .. they charged us 3 times what we were quoted and the receptionist was very rude. My animal did not feel better after they worked on him and we do not recommend them in any way, shape or form. Try another Vet .. there are a few in PB .. just not PB Vet on Garnet. Good luck~ more

I called and asked to speak to the Dr. who was helping us with our dog. She said she wasn't available and hung up on me. I couldn't believe it ... so I called back and asked her if she hung up on me and she said ""yes"" ! The receptionist was off the chart rude and finally took my name and #. While the Dr was very nice she didn't quote us and then stuck us with a $450.00 bill. I would not recommend this Vet in any way, shape or form! I give them a 1 out of 10. Pros: No pros Cons: Rude receptionist - didn't explain cost more

I can't recommend Dr Keiss or her staff enough! I have been taking my pets there for 11 years. I first went to Dr Keiss as she was the avian vet for a parrot rescue organization that I fostered for. After I met her, I started taking my own parrots to her. And although she is a 30 minute drive from my home, as cats and dogs have also become family members, they too drive to Pacific Beach to be cared for by Dr Keiss. I especially appreciate her willingness to include me in the partnership for the care of my pets. Her caring for my pets and myself has been very evident over the years. My pets are not stressed when we have a trip to the vet. I always tell them that we get to go see Dr Keiss today! There have been a few life and death emergencies with parrots and Dr Keiss has been there to help and save lives that probably otherwise would have been lost at that time. The staff is wonderful and always helpful. Her professional associates have also shown their skill and caring for my pets. more

I have gone to this Clinic for over 15 years and the entire support staff and veterinarians here are wonderful! They spend the time with you and never rush you out like many places do. In this day you want to feel you are getting your moneys worth and they definitely go that one step further in your personal attention and caring handling of your loving pet. more

After spending an obscene amount of money for a treatment plan that failed miserably, I brought her in one last time to just ask for the correct medicine (I have seen a specialist out of state for this condition and was instructed to keep her on this med if she ever got sick again). They made me wait almost and hour and then when a different vet finally offered to see me, I got about 5 minutes of her time and basically told there was nothing she could do. She also mentioned putting my three year old dog to sleep, completely OUTRAGEOUS. The next day I saw a different Dr. and was told there were other options. Clearly lazy and insensitive.\r \r Insensitive people doing business in a insensitive way. I was treated like dirt. And my dog got very ill because the vet didn't take my previous vets recommendation for medication. \r Cons: They don't listen, they are rude, they made my dog sicker than she was before I came in because they wouldn't listen to her old vet. more
