Editorial review from Citysearch 6/15/2012

Vet prescribed NO pain medication for my pets after their surgeries, said this was standard procedure. Also, facility does NOT use the latest surgical practices as far as fasting, and recommends a fast schedule meant for a dog 2+ years ago to be used on non-canines. Misdiagnosis of issue also led to the death of one of my pets due to prolonged symptoms that could have been treated if correctly diagnosed. Emergency situation arose after I had been customer for a long time (before the surgery issues), was told my pet was dying and ""if he could make it"", I should take him to East Greenwich RI for special treatment. Then made me stand there for 15 minutes to pay. If I could give 5 NEGATIVE stars, I would. ""Caring""? ""Personalized""? Where have you people been going? more

Wonderful, caring staff 9/9/2009

I've been taking my animals to Dr. Gay for many years. He and his staff are friendly, dedicated people whose love and compassion for animals is obvious in the way they handle and treat our pets. I wouldn't THINK of entrusting my pet's care to any other Veterinarian. When we had to put my 15 year old cat to sleep due to a serious medical condition, Dr. Gay and his staff all cried with me as Kato made his way to the Rainbow Bridge. They are a truly wonderful group of people. more

Wonderful Veterinary Practice 12/7/2007

Exceptional veterinary services and an extremely friendly (and funny!), knowledgable staff. Open late two evenings and Saturdays to accommodate the working folk. They do not offer 24 hour emergency service, but it is rare to find a vet that does. They refer after hour emergencies to the the capable and efficient Ocean State Veterinary Specialist, located 20 - 25 minutes from Pachaug. ""Demon"" my Rottweiler-Akita Mix hates everyone, but he LOVES Dr. Gay ever since he saved his life. more

Caring and understanding... personalized treatment 6/22/2007

The group at Pachaug are great, they understand how the pet owner feels and are willing to work with you to do what is best, even if it means recommending treatment elsewhere, they want whats best for your animals...not themselves! Friendly staff, great little store that hometown feeling of kindness! Pros: Experienced freindly understanding Cons: no 24hr emergency staff more

Very good vet, he fuly understands and listens 1/24/2007

This vet really gives you all the information that you need. he is a very understanding vet. For travel time it is worth it for me. I just wish he had longer hours or at least one or two days a week that he was open late. Also if you have a guide dog he will give you a discount in the same amount as he does for the seniors. more
