My two dogs (2-1/2 years old and 6 months old) just had their 1st boarding experience - an overnight plus one day (28 hrs.) Everything about the experience was positive! The lobby/boarding areas were clean, the people were nice, and their hours are very convenient. I was pleased to get a "report card" (how they slept, ate, played, etc.) that left no doubt that they behaved the same as they do at home. I left a page of notes about the two dogs’ personalities/quirks and I could tell when I picked my dogs up that my notes had been read. Happy pet owner equals future repeat customer!
PetSmart was very careful about vaccinations and before being admitted, my dogs’ ears were looked at and a flea comb was used to make sure they didn’t bring any hitchhikers with them. It was good to know the other dogs they would be playing with would be just as healthy.
When it was time for my dogs to be taken to their room, I thought I would watch them being taken out of the lobby, but was told I needed to leave with the dogs watching me so they would "know" that I wasn't still around there somewhere. PetSmart really thought through that little detail which made so much sense – that really impressed me.
When I came to pick them up, I could peek in their room and see how it was set up. All their personal “stuff” brought from home was in there to make them comfortable. PetSmart has nothing to hide and I really liked how my dogs were cared for. The small dogs’ playroom is in full view of customers in the store so anyone can see how employees handle playtime and interact with the dogs, and clean the playroom (an impressive process.)
I highly recommend PetSmart's Pet Hotel and will definitely use them again in the future. Their pricing is good and actually turned out to be better than I realized. I thought the second day's charge of $16 would be in addition to the ala carte activities I chose, but the activities just needed to add up to a minimum of $16 so for that price they got two play times and two snacks plu
