What's all the hype about? 11/3/2006

After hearing all the buzz about this burger joint we decided to give it a try. What's the big deal? The bun and cheese were boring, the burger was small, the special sauce was basically thousand island dressing and the real kicker? When my husband took a bite into his burger it had a HUGE, nasty artery in the meat. We both almost threw up. The only saving grace was the fries, but even they were soggy and un-seasoned.\r \r If you want to experience true, non fast food burgers done right, you need to check out Who's Who burgers in Highland Park Village in Dallas. The Kobe beef burger is so good and nary an artery in sight! We WILL NOT be going back to P. Terry's. Cons: nasty meat, small, plain and boring more

This is what fast food should be! 9/14/2006

I tried P. Terry's about a 6 months ago when a sweet client brought me a double-meat cheeseburger (with all the fixins'), french fries, and a chocolate milkshake. She told me before I dug into all of it that it was very inexpensive and all fresh/organic ingrediants. The milkshake was divine and supremely creamy because I later found out it's made of simply milk, cream, and yummy chocolatey goodness. The cheeseburger was about the size of one from burger king but it sure didn't taste like it was from there. Instead it tasted like it should - hot off the grill with a toasty bun and fresh tomatoes and lettuce. Next, the french fries (which are my favorite thing of all from there interestingly enough) were crispy and natural with some of the skin still on them and not at all greasy. You can taste the oil that other fast food places cook their fries in but you can't at P. Terry's instead like I've said before they just taste the way they should. What you would expect out of real homecooked food. I have been going back ever since I first tasted P. Terry's and I haven't ever been let down in fact the experiences just keep getting better. Also might I add how I love the fact that they are open until 11pm so it's always convenient on my way home or before going out. Thanks P. Terry's for offering Austin a remarkable hamburger drive-through and providing us with fresh food that even though it may be unhealthly to eat a lot actually makes me feel more healthy. Pros: inexpensive, yummy, quick service Cons: Only when it gets backed up because so many people LOVE it! more

The Bomb Diggity! 7/4/2006

Shut up! This place is incredible! Get the double with grilled onions, and you'll be more than satisfied. There's a reason cars are always backed up to get a burger at this place...because this is the real deal. Quality ingredients make this the best burger I have tasted since In&Out in Cali. Pros: Fabulous Burgers, fresh-cut fries, milkshakes to die for Cons: none that I can find more

Just Ok. 1/26/2006

Like the first reviewer I found the burgers to be on the small side, but the price is right ($5.63 including tax for the double/double combo). I wasn't wowed by the taste. It did have very fresh toppings. The fries are very good. They were a little slow. I drove through at noon on a Thursday and the cars were backed-up to the point that no more orders could be taken. All-in-all, they were just OK. more

Mmmmm... 1/20/2006

Husband drug me here after some coworkers took him here for lunch. I was skeptical thinking, ""so it's a burger, big deal."" OMG...we didn't talk the whole time we were so busy slavering over our food. Fries exactly like the famous Jack's fries at the State Fair. Great shakes as well, not McDonalds type slurry. Pros: Burgers, Fries, Service Cons: Busy, no dine in area more

Best Hamburgers in Austin 12/19/2005

I love P. Terry's and have become a regular drive through customer. Where else can you get a great burger and not have to get out of your car to pick it up??? Everything is fresh and sides are just as good. Be sure to try one of their shakes. This puts Sonic and other fast food joints to shame! more

Best Burgers in Austin! 12/4/2005

As its name states, this is a burger stand not a restaurant, but there are some picnic tables adjacent to the stand. We ordered the double-double and were extremely pleased with the juiciness and flavor of the burger and the fresh ingredients, including a secret sauce that we think is probably a basic thousand island dressing. The burgers are rather small, think In-N-Out Burger, so we would suggest getting the double. Our friends that opted for the single were left wanting more. They also serve chicken sandwiches and veggie burgers, which we did not try. The basic hamburger starts at $1.70 while combo meals will run around $4 or $5. Pros: Fresh, Cheap, Drive Thru more

Editorial
  • P Terry's has options to please us all - chicken, veggie, and beef. I don't eat beef, but can vouch for how great the chicken and veggies burgers both are! Though some may consider these burgers...
