""10"" - Hands Down 8/28/2005

There is absolutely nowhere in the triangle you can go for chinese food that can match this restaurant...the ambience is perfect, the food is delicious...you must make a reservation though if you do not want a long wait...but if you don't, the wait is well worth it....try the Crispy Honey Shrimp....it's heaven...;) Pros: Valet Parking, Ambience, Delicious Cons: Crowded more

One of My Favorite Places! 8/15/2005

Excellent bartending, excellent food and awesome wait staff. I've only one time had a bad meal here, and they did not charge me for it. I've been to this restaurant more than 20 times and am fully satisfied with the menu. I believe the prices are right. Banana Spring Rolls are awesome! The stuffed wantons for appetizers are off the charts! Try this place if you haven't and you'll find yourself a place to return time and time again. Pros: food, atmosphere, prices Cons: long wait more

Come here! 6/8/2005

I am sorry that some of you have had bad experiences here. I have enjoyed it every time. I have always had excellent service. Glenn at the bar is one of the very best bartenders I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Keep up the good work and I will continue to come back. Pros: Good Drink Menu, Polite staff, Fun atmosphere more

Very flavorful 4/2/2005

My new favorite restaurant! I have made several trips recently and found the food to be wonderful. I have yet to try a dish that I did not like. Each dish has its own distinct flavor. It is a taste treat with every bite. The Vegetarian lettuce wraps are very good and I highly recommend the Ground Chicken and eggplant. Pros: Great food, good service more

Really Bad 9/20/2004

The 'PF' must stand for poor food, overpriced but in an artistic setting. My beef a la Sichouan (sic) must have been made with jerky; the server-forgotten hot-and-sour soup was burned (and not very hot); and the brown rice was served as a cold congealed lump. My companion's scallops were good fresh seafood, but the treatment left yet another burned aftertaste on the pallette. The only redeming factor was an acceptable (although limited) wine list. In short, I've had better chinese in a mall food court. Unless you just have an overwhelming urge to blow 70 bucks on inedible food, avoid this place. Pros: ambiance, artwork, free valet parking Cons: , minimal service, overpriced more

Great Chinese 9/17/2004

I haven't been out for Asian food in a while, and P.F. Chang's was a great choice...probably the best Chinese I've ever had, and I'm particular because I prefer Japanese food. Everything on the menu sounded great, and everything my party had was wonderful. Excellent service too! Pros: service, value more

Overrated 4/3/2004

I've been several times just to give the place a chance. Only thing good is the brown rice. Service is horrible, seating is sketchy, why wait one hour for miserable service. Bamboo is the place for me now for local shopping mall asian cuisine. Pros: visibility, decor Cons: , the wait, boring food more

Asian Flair 2/24/2004

P.F. Chang's offers a variety of great meals and appetizers including their lettuce wraps and lo mein noodles. The last time I was there they listed the carbs, fat, calorie content, etc in a special menu. I especially like their lunch meal because of the prices. I have yet to try their desserts but the chocolate cake looks Wonderful. Expect a LONG wait time for lunch and dinner but that just goes to show how popular the place is. I had good service all times that I have been there. Try the tea with passion fruit! Pros: great food, fair price more

South Pointe PF Changs 12/2/2003

Never having been to a P.F. Chang's, my friend and I went to the South Pointe one for lunch. Lunch took 1.5 hours, way too long. My order was screwed up twice. The wait staff has no clue as to what the dishes are. The food is more American crap than good Chinese. Since when is corn, lima beans, and shrimp a Chinese dish. And I think Hot and spicy to them refers to the BS they put in the menu. I've had better food, service, and price from a Fatburger joint. Goto Big Bowl across the street, for less money you always get a quality dish. Pros: The place is heated Cons: Price, Service, Food more

Waddya want? 8/4/2003

If you want to ""be seen"" paying for overpriced mass-merchandised dinner to impress your friends or relatives from out of town with so-so food and snotty service - this is the place! If you want REAL Chinese food, skip out to Brier Creek to New Asia or Peking Garden, or any of the other authentic restaurants. For snob appeal, PFCs can't be beat. For value, taste and service so somewhere else. Pros: Location Cons: service, authenticity, PRICE more

Tasty dishes 4/14/2003

There are a few dishes that I'd like to recommend: the cantonese duck, beef si chuan, peking dumplings, chicken lettuce wrap, crispy honey shrimp and mooshoo pork. These dishes are more authentic compared to those from Chinese-American restaurants. more

Perfect all around. 3/21/2003

It does not feel like a chain at all and it has great cuisine. The service is unmatchable for the price. It seemed as if we had 2 waiters both were very excellent. We usaully have lunch here. The chicken lettuce raps are a must but don't recommend oriental salad unless you want a lot of lettuce. I have not yet tried the banna desert but i think it should be very good. Great for kids or a couple. This is definetly for those who are more in the mood for traditional chinese food. Pros: quick, moderatly priced more

typical upscale chain scene 3/12/2003

Numbed-down, blanded Americanized Chinese fair. Fairly loud and rushed, don't plan on staying long or getting too comfortable... Evidently they don't take reservations, good for them, you'll spend an extra few $ at the bar waiting to just receive one of those pager things. For Asian, I'd stick with some of the local eateries, and smaller venues for more authentic food with character. Pros: Prices were decent, Quick food delivery, Attentive waitstaff Cons: Chain-eatery, In-n-out mentality, Loud more

So so... 3/12/2003

Hmm, with so many better choices for Asian/Chinese food in Raleigh, why lower yourself to eating at a mall-based, past-its-prime, Chinese restaurant? We had orange shrimp, which was good but not great, lettuce wraps (can't wait for Cheesecake factory for theirs), and crispy beans - (kind of greasy). Plus the waiter forgot to bring our leftovers to go. The drink menu is extensive, but stick with wine, as my Manhattan was weak as was unmemorable my wife's Tanqueray and tonic. The way better choice for fresh authentic Asian food is Five Star in downtown Raleigh. The crispy beans are awesome and FRESH! more

Close to real chinese food 2/9/2003

as a chinese student living in the US, I have hard time to find a good chinese resturant offering real chinese food. Well, there is one finally. P.F. Chang is located in the Crabtree Mall. They have wonderful decoration, good service, and their dishes are colorfull and tasty. Reservation is recommend. more

Great food!!! 2/8/2003

The food is out of this world!! My husband and I just moved here from Louisana and miss the awesome food from down south. The flavor is to die for and great selection!! Pros: good price, large amounts of food Cons: very crowded more

Try Shrimp Dumplings 2/4/2003

I always get the pan fried shrimp dumplings. They're just the best. & the Lemon Chicken is also wonderful. more

Best service hands down 2/3/2003

A group of us out for my friend's birthday and ended up having to wait until a large table cleared, which took a lot longer than the restaurant expected. Once we were seated, the waiters brought out five free appetizers. The manager came over and apologized for our wait and asked if there was anything he could do. The chef came over and said he would be making a special entree for our table on the house, which we shared and was absolutely fabulous. My dinner was too spicy and they toned it down for me. We asked if they could add one banana roll to a dessert so we would have enough for everyone. They brought us an entire extra plate for free. The manager and chef came over many times to check on us. We could not have had better service and could not have been more pleased. more

Long wait but worth it. 1/5/2003

Yeah, I know this is a chain but it was really good. We were told our wait would be 105 minutes...good thing the mall was right there :) Definitely different - lots of food variety, excellent potstickers - which are always my thing. Good and unobtrusive service. Just all around a good experience. more

AMERICANIZED chinese food 12/6/2002

the atmosphere is very comfortable and ""aesthetically pleasing"" however there is price to pay: no reservations and be prepared to wait anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour. The food is decent. It's not piping hot, but there are a few interesting dishes with a pan asian flavor. if you want authentic chinese, i would not recommend this place. the service is good depending on your luck. sometimes you can get a full explanation of the 4 sauces on the table and other times none. they do not allow you to enjoy your meal according to however long it takes you, but they come to take your plates away even before you might be done eating. more
