I?ve never used this place, but I wouldn?t personally have anything to do with a place run by Dr. Lee Garrod. She is also the ?brains? behind the Emergency Veterinary Critical Care center in Newington/Portsmouth. I have yet to find some body (who doesn?t work there) who doesn?t have a horror story to share about the trip to the emergency hospital. Oyster River did have a great reputation. However, interestingly all the ?old staff? - left. Just like most of the good vets at Garrod?s emergency hospital. She is about as warm-hearted as an iceberg. She touts around her ?diplomate? status and boy does she make sure her picture gets into all the brochures for her facilities. They should run a picture of the animals who have died there after being improperly treated or misdiagnosed at her "critical care" center. more

Such a wonderful environment! 6/22/2008

My husband and I have taken our animals to many different vet hospitals as we have lived in many cities. This is truly the best vet hospital we have ever been to. They are soooo friendly! Not only are they interested in our pets and their personalities, but they treat us like real people as if they have known us our whole lives. They are more traditional medicine but have had no problem at all working with us with some of our holistic questions and supplements. This is a place who actually listens to US and OUR needs and is not about the mighty bottom dollar! We are never moving again!!!\r Sandra W. more

Great care 1/7/2008

We have a myriad of animals. We have 3 dogs and 3 cats. The care they receive there is great. The staff is very friendly. My animals don't even mind going there. My chihuahua Petey really likes to visit. He doesn't like to get his nails done though! I definitely would recommend them to anyone.\r The Petersons more

Very Kind & Professional 11/9/2005

The doctors are very kind and thoughtful, they treated my cat very gently and quickly. They had a perfect balance between animal caring and medical business. The cost seemed to be about the average price for a vet appointment. They recommended a special food for my cat to treat his tooth problems and called him by name.
