Jeff Owens and his team did a great job of getting our 10-year old rooftop solar system back in operation. The problem turned out to be burned wires in one of our 24 panels. They diagnosed the problem, removed, checked and remounted all the panels, and rewired the one defective panel. They then also mounted a new inverter that should last us another 10 years. We have a problem with no electricity reaching the alarm panel. We placed the call in the morning and Mr. Owens could come to service in an hour. Throughout the service, he was thorough and courteous, keeping us informed on the status all the time. At the end of the service, he also suggested to contact the alarm company to make sure everything is right, as we only have stationary office phones, Mr. Owens even offered to use his cell phone to reach the alarm company for convenience. We contacted Jeff in June for a bid on installation of our home solar system. His written bid/contract was very professsional and technically informative and the system he specified was very similar in size (power generation) to the one specified by Solar City. The solar panels he specified were of much higher quality than those specifed by Solar City -- important to us, since we will be the system owners and want the system to be as trouble-free as possible. In addition, the system he specified had a micro-inverter on each panel instead of the single inverter for the whole system specifed by Solar City. We preferred this since it allows us to monitor the performance of each panel independantly to know which of them need servicing down the road. After signing the contract, there was a longish delay (about three months) while Jeff waited for the panels to be delivered, but once installation started, it was relatively quick and painless, occurring in about three working days over the course of a week or so. He handled all the permitting and rebate paperwork and everything went smoothly. While Jeff was on-site, we asked him about an electrical problem we were having with the recessed lighting in our kitchen. The 18 low-voltage recessed lights buzz very loudly and could not easily be replaced without taking out the whole ceiling. We have asked MANY people to help us solve this problem, and none of them were able to help us ... until Jeff. Jeff correctly identified the problem as a manufacturing defect in the transformers and figured a way to change each transformer without opening up the ceiling. We are thrilled with our eerily quiet kitchen!! And it is great when you find someone who knows what they are doing! I will definately be keeping Jeff's name in my contact list! more
