HORRIBLE PLACE! 1/2/2012

our dogs was there for a week and they were very over active dogs, now both just want to lay around and do nothing. One of them use to bark and whine like crazy and now he will not make a noise. He also gets scared when we try to take the leash off. the other dog is about 10 lbs skinner than what he use to be, and we can see on both dogs their ribs and hip bones (clearly) more

Wonderful Facility and Staff 7/25/2011

This is a WONDERFUL facility! I The doctors really listen to you and are mindful of your budget. They give the best care possibly for your animals and take their time when examing them. I like how it is a family owned buisness. All of the Steinmans are involved with the care of our animals. \r \r Everyone is also really friendly as well. One of the receptionists helped me out to my car with my large bag of dog food. This just shows they go above and beyond to make sure everyone is treated with care and respect. \r \r I also LOVE their boarding area. They have a lot of play areas for your dogs to roam. My dogs like the kiddie pool in the fenced in play area. I like that they have indoor/outdoor suites for my dogs to stay in while boarding. \r \r Overall, excellent place! more

Salisbury Animal Hospital-- 4/18/2011

I had been taking my animals to this facility for years but when I entered with a serious situation with an animal, I was treated so rude and I found out why. There was a staff member with a personal problem with me and nothing to do about the animal. Jackie B. was talking about me and making serious gestures with her hands to another staff member about me. No one came to the counter to ask if I needed anything, they were rude and ignored me, I had to speak out loud to get anyone to help me. This staff member should keep her opinions professional when she is at work, she is very rude and when talking to owner about the situation, nothing was done. I have many friends that have since moved their animals to a different vet. All that needs to be said is (Keep your personal affairs at home and treat people with respect) more

Was a nightmare 9/13/2010

My dog dug a hole under my fence and was struck by a car..long story short My log lost her leg..then she had to be put to sleep...Vet says her other back leg was fine she'd be able to run as a 3 legged dog. I noticed that she wasn't walking well at all agter the surgery, they failed to x-ray or make sure her other back leg was strong enough to be a 3 legged dog...her leg the only back leg she had left had blown tendons and ligaments..was an awful experience more

Animal Care Ctr Of Salisbury is Wonderful! 11/23/2009

We work with feline adoption efforts and usually select the older cats that are harder to place than kittens. Regardless of their ages, we treat our kitties like our children. We have been taking them to Charles Steinman and his staff for 8 years. ACS has always been professional, attentive, competitively priced, and their facilities and services are excellent. When they are extremely busy (like holidays) or have an emergency animal to treat, what may appear as less cordial behavior is actually their dedicted focus on the care of our pets. Friendly - yes - but the staff is not there to socialize with or entertain the owners. And I've seen some pretty obnoxious owners. Celeste W. more

Salisbury Animal Hospital is very professional 8/6/2009

Salisbury Animal Hospital treated my dog Harley today, they treated me and Harley with respect and gave me a lot of information, and gave me several free things to help my dog. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and seemed very capable and professional. more

overly priced and poor service!!!! 2/27/2009

At the end of my dog's life, she was constantly sick. Salisbury animal clinic sucked me dry of all of my money doing blood tests and giving her medicine she didn't need. I finally took her to my cousin in PA that is a vet that told me she didn't need half the stuff she was on, but did have cushings disease, which salisbury animal clinic didn't even diagnose her with. He said any vet didn't even have to do a blood test to tell, it was obvious to the eye because her hair wasn't growing back and her skin was turning black!!??!!\r A couple months later she started to get worse and I called my cousin, he said I needed someone to take a urine sample and check for diabetes. SAC gave me a quote of over $100, Lazy 5 Ranch did the urine test for $15, and collected the urine themselves, which SAC was going to make me do. Ultimately, I believe if I went to Lazy 5 (where I take my new puppy) or to another vet, my dog would still be alive today, and if I could give them negative stars I would!! more

Exceeded Expecations 7/27/2008

I've had my pets with Steinman for the past thirty years. Occasionally we'd try out another vet, but we'd always be back. Rates are incredibly reasonable, Steinman and his son really care about animals. Food and supplies are very competitive with other retail sites, but don't let the good prices fool you. All our animals have had very long lives under their care. I'm out of town now, and my current vet wonders how my 16 year old cat looks so young (no one believes she's over 10). Very sensitive to budget concerns--look for their rabies clinics and dental specials, usually posted on their bill board. more

good service but one with not a nice bed side manner 6/25/2008

For the most part I really enjoy taking my pets to this vet. But there is one vet who does not have any bed side manner with my dog. He is very abrupt and treated me today as if I was lying about what I felt my dog got into (she got what appears to be a bug bite by her eye and she scratched it terribly with her toenails).I treat my pets as if they were my children so that really bothered me that I was made to feel that way. I felt that he is not sensitive to our pets and/or us as pet owners. I felt as if I was very rushed at explaining what I felt may have occured. I believe he is very capable of performing anything that maybe thrown his way but as far as beside manner he really needs to take some classes. more

Nice place for pets 3/6/2006

I had a dog having puppies and she was having a hard time at it. My vet was closed so I took my dog here. They tried to let he have them but she could not by herself so they did a c- sec on her and she had two more pups and let me pay for most and billed me for the last part of it.They will work with you. more

I didn't get treated like a number 7/25/2005

My little dog was in a fight with a bigger dog, and I really didn't think he would live. Well I rushed him to Salisbury Animal Hospital and they were great. They saved my dog and they were very nice. They don't treat you like another number here, they are very friendly and helpful. The vets were very informative and understanding. more
