Great Location 7/25/2009

I have stayed here or near here on several occasions. The location is great. It's right on the water and very close to central honolulu where everything you need or want will be. There is an ABC store just across the street...shocker! The pool is great but crawling with kids during the day. The hot tub is just ok but the poolside service is great. They have very unique and fun stores in the hotel and the restaurants are great. If you've seen what there is to do in Honolulu you could stay at this hotel and never have to leave the property! more

Best hotel in Waikiki. 7/25/2009

I have stayed here a half dozen times. Since the latest upgrade, it is wonderful. The rooms are not overly large, but are nicely decorated. The beds were very comfortable. The beach front rooms are so nice, sit on the lanai and watch the action. Very nice pool, shops, restaurants and Starbucks right there. The staff was very friendly, we were waited on immediately. Best location on the beach. more

Best deal in Honolulu 9/24/2007

Though not luxurious, the room was a good size and clean with a great ocean view. The Hut restaurant was the best deal for breakfast, though the Shore Bird also had a very good breakfast buffet. Lunch at the Shore Bird was reasonable, but if you don't want to cook, go somewhere else for supper. The Ocean House, also located in the hotel, is a bit more expensive, but with views of the ocean and Diamond Head at sunset, who would complain? I had the best swordfish ever here. The hotel was very reasonably priced with many amenities and shopping available within. I plan to return to Hawaii in two years and will stay here again. I feel for the price, it has to be the best deal in Honolulu. Pros: Great location; within walking distance of attractions Cons: Can't think of any more

disappointed 7/27/2005

For the amount of money I paid, I thought we would have a larger room for the 2 of us. Room very small. Looked at another hotel. Air conditioning was off, High or low. Food at the Cheifs Hut was great. Staff at the Hut were great. Shorebird ;you have to cook your own. On vacation didn't want to do that, plus if you didn't cook it or go to the buffet. It took a while to get your food. Being right on the beach was great! I will try another place next time we go down. Pros: shopping A+++ Cons: construction more

Smaller Rooms, Good Service, Great loc. 9/8/2002

We stayed here for 4 nights this past month and really enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly, especially the housekeeping. The location is great and we would stay here again if we get a good deal. Everything is small though, the rooms, bathroom, elevator, pool, fitness center...but not unbearably so. They also have hospitality rooms available if late check out is not, which was great since our plane didn't leave till 10 PM. Pros: Location, Service, Price Cons: Size more
