Good Comic Book Shop 4/13/2011

I had previously been in another store in Murfreesboro, Great Adventures, and felt like they really didn't want me to bother them. I mean I was asking them about comic books and not games and the person who talked to me seemed to want me out of the store. more

The Best Card and Comic Shop in Murfreesboro 9/14/2009

Competitors continue their misinformation campaign, but that's all they can do; no one can actually compete with Outer Limits locally in Murfreesboro, whether you're a comic or toy collector or you're looking for open game space and a quality Magic: The Gathering locale, with an atmosphere fit for all ages. The staff is always willing to help with anything they can, each with their own distinct specialties above and beyond any general retailer, and while they may not have every game or comic available in stock at all times, a potential order is just a brief conversation with one of these specialists away. Pros: Great staff, great community. Cons: Competitors who sock puppet review sites. more

Close this store, or sell it to someone who actually cares 7/8/2009

The store currently does not have any knowledgeable employees when it comes to purchasing collections and about creating a wide selection of vintage items. The selection is very limited; mostly to newer items within the last few years. The previous owner, Randy Pearcy, as well as previous employees were much more knowledgeable and friendly. Basically, the store has gone from a major comics and toy collector's store, to a games den with comics. The current owner is basically a fan boy who lived his dream of owning a comic shop. The only problem is, he has ran it into the ground and has created a cult like atmosphere. Shop Outer Limits or shop nowhere... Pros: Decent Backstock Selection Cons: Current Owner...Store Selection more

Much, much better than it has ever been 3/11/2009

I had two hold boxes in Murfreesboro, for a long time. One was at Grand Adventures, because their discount is SLIGHTLY better than Outer limits. I kept most of my comics at Outer Limits, out of loyalty. I say, forget about Grand Adventures. that place is cramped. they shove all their comics into a corner to make room for table games. Outer Limits, on the other hand, has pushed all the gamers into a back room, and thank you (outer limits) for that. It's like a library. it seemes... i dont know... respectable. just wish they had an email address or a website. Pros: huge selection, they keep the card players in a back room Cons: nada more

best comic store in Town and one of the best in Mid State 6/14/2008

First, when the owner can get your wife hooked on comics...well its A #1. Second, he's a real person and cares about all aspects of collections: toys, comics, busts, books, posters and card gaming. I'm a toy and comics guy but the owner and his family respects all ages and collectors. Its a place where a teenager or a family can hang out and its still ""cool.' Go! and go now! more

Best Murfreesboro store! 12/28/2007

Today was new comics day, because of Christmas. So once again I went to my home store, Outer Limits. Here's the deal, this is my store of choice. Because the owner actually reads comics and enjoys them. If you've been looking for a comic shop that actually has a makes you feel like you belong, then here's your place. Also, if this is your first time in the store, let them know, they'll treat you as an honored guest, not an outsider. Pros: Service, quality, friendliness Cons: traffic flow more

Not. That. Bad. At. All. 12/11/2007

Wow. Pretty easy to see that someone stepped on somebody's puppydog's tail. and I couldn't let that review go without a rebuttal. Truth is, the Outer Limits in Murfreesboro has only had two owners, and the present one is working pretty hard to dispell memories of the past. The store is anything but ""dingy and cramped"" -- it's clean, uncluttered, and family oriented. The staff is (now) friendlier than its ever been -- and VERY far from incompetent (""now"" meaning a former employee who was arrogance personified is mercifully long gone). I've been shopping there for nearly seven years, and it's better now than its ever been -- more stock at better prices, much easier to navigate, and it seems to be growing. Yeah, it may not be the best comic store in middle Tennessee (Rick's Comic City in Nashville might deserve that distinction), but Outer Limits is a solid number two and nothing to sneeze at. Believe the other review only if you want to miss out on good selection, good prices, and fun. more

Worst. Shop. Ever. 10/20/2007

Cramped, dingy, elitist, geared toward card-kiddies... is there any wonder why Outer Limits has changed ownership so many times over the past few years? If I did my job the way they run their shop, I'd have been fired for incompetence long ago. Better to subscribe from the comics companies than go here. more
