Mediocre at best 10/23/2010

The service was good, other than the annoyance of the waitress and a manager asking me how my meal was twice within a minute of each other and both times I had to finish chewing the rough steak to answer them. They advertise ""The Melbourne"" as a 20 oz steak that is good for two meals. It is $25 and comes with 2 sides. They don't tell you that it is about 8 oz of t-bone, 6 oz meat, 6 oz fat. The baked potato was standard, just like one you could get cheaper at applebees. The blue cheese lettuce wedge salad was good. I took four bites of the melbourne, i couldn't even cut through it due to the various layers of fat and overall tough meat. It felt like i was trying to cut through it with a butter knife. I came here for a great steak and got a sub-standard hunk of trash. My entire meal, beer, tip was $40 and what I got was a beer, salad, baked potato and 3 crappy bites of meat before I gave up on it. Another annoyance, the outside booths have lights that sit about 18 inches off of the table, they are very hot. I had to unscrew the light bulb to stop sweating. The facility itself is aesthetically pleasing, the service was nice overall, but I go out to eat at steakhouses for a great cut of meat. I don't mind spending $40-$60 on my meal but it better be well above your average applebees steak. I'm glad I went with friends the first time so I know never to take a date there. I will never return to this restaurant chain, I found my experience at texas roadhouse to be much better. more

Nothing special 10/14/2003

Average american style food (wings, steaks, fries in many incarnations). Average service, but the atmosphere of the Steakhouses is fun. I hope no one is under the illusion of believing that the food served here is Australian in any way! As an Australian I was somewhat bemused by the complete absence of any australian style food on the menu. I'd recommend this restaurant to large groups/families who don't want to spend too much, but are looking for reasonable quality fare. Pros: fun interior, easy parking Cons: often very busy, average food more

Alarmingly wonderful 1/17/2003

This is by far the best steakhouse at which I've eaten thus far in PA. I don't have a single complaint; only praise for the wonderful staff and the excellent food. This will continue to be one of my favorites. Cons: Never enough parking more
