Our Vision
It was Tuesday, 17th of January 2012, ironically MLK day. I stood in front of 6 friends and said that I have a vision of creating a low cost recycling company that could survive without charging companies for recycling and also being able to return a percentage of the working equipment taken in and put it back in service by giving it to non-profits.
On July 1st 2012, Our Vision Recycling was born. I told my story to customers and they all wanted to be a part of it, hence the name Our Vision, working together to reach a common goal. Paying it forward.
Unlike some other recyclers in the area, Our Vision does not charge for weight or pickups. The items come in and get sorted, our tech's determine what is good and what can't be fixed. The items that are useable get put back into service and the items that don't work are properly dismantled and disposed.
The blue sky and clouds on our web page and business cards represents the common goal of the company, to clean up the earth so generations after us can enjoy the beautiful blue sky we have grown to enjoy and also, that the sky is the limit on what we can accomplish.. Free Pickups:

Data Sanitization Standards: Our Vision of a greener future also includes making sure that our customers can believe and trust in our resources.
Here at Our Vision Recycling we take your data protection seriously. All hard drives are wiped using free,non-proprietary software from the open source community,fulfilling all NISP and D.o.D. 5220.22-M(3-Pass) standards for basic data sanitization. We wipe all hard drives to this standard with no exceptions. Hard Disk Drive (HDD) Data Destruction Records can be provided upon request. For especially sensitive media requiring more than these standards (i.e. Banking,Accounting,Legal,Political,Medical,etc.),hard drives can be wiped to D.o.D. 5220.28-STD standards,a 7-Pass wipe-over; and/or the drives are physically destroyed through magnetic degaussing,disassembly and physical shredding. While this does not allow us to complete Our Vision of reuse and recycle,it is the best way to ensure the drives can't be read and that destruction of high value information is guaranteed.
