food is terrible and service is awful. meals cost a fortune considering, you eat at their restaurant, tour the city, and they have your car towed to the tune of $350! will NEVER eat here again! SCAMMERS!! more

Fantastic 2/8/2011

This is one of the best places in Salt Lake City! Not many restaurants can cater to everyone's likings and I love that I can have breakfast, lunch or dinner anytime I want! The service is AWESOME! I have been dining there for well over a decade! With regard to the parking, I love that they are willing to tow people who are not patrons of the restaurant. It is a business, and in order for us to dine there we need parking. If you don't like the parking situation in Salt Lake, you should take that up with your city council, not a busy restaurant like The Other Place. The Other Place is one of my favorite places to eat when I come in town!! more

Mmmm...Yummy! 12/28/2010

What I Like: The food here is consistent. It's usually good and I can almost always rely on getting a tasty meal at a reasonable price. It's great that they serve breakfast all day because I love having French Toast for dinner. There are some waitresses there that are on top of their game: friendly, fast, and accomodating. They never let you see the bottom of your coffee cup and that's exactly the kind of service I love. If you have room for dessert don't leave without trying their rice pudding.\r \r What I Don't Like: If you go there on the weekend be prepared to wait. Sometimes (not always) even when there aren't a lot of people there can still be a half hour wait. On a recent visit I asked the waitress to turn down the music and she actually rolled her eyes at me. That was surprising because I've come to expect great service from this place.\r \r Overall I really enjoy it here and it's one of my favorite restuarants. I recommend that you give it a try and even if there's a crowd I think it's worth the wait. more

Extremely delicious food 9/30/2010

My husband and I love to go to this restaurant. Everyone is extremely nice and the service is excellent. The waiters/waitresses are always attentive making sure if there's anything they can do for you. We love to have the spaghetti with garlic & butter with chicken. There is nothing else like the chicken lemon soup. Nothing can top that--a lot of people go to the restaurant just to have it. Unfortunately it is only served on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays if I'm not mistaken. (worth asking :) ) This is the perfect place to go if you're starving. They serve so much food! Most entrees include an appetizer, the choice of garlic or pita bread AND dessert (spumoni ice cream strongly recommended!) more

House Breakfast, over medium, sausage, wheat toast 12/16/2008

It's the best breakfast in town and worth putting your name on the waiting list. The staff is quick, efficient and as nice as can be. If it's comfort you're craving for dinner, you can't beat the Pork Chops and Spaghetti. It comes with soup, salad, dessert and a piece of garlic bread as big as a Buick. Pros: Big portions, great service. Cons: Parking can be iffy. more

One of my all time favorite restaurants 2/13/2008

I love them at breakfast: French toast sandwich. Or their lovely marinated chicken breakfast.\r \r I love them at lunch and dinner: Chicken Kebab Meal, comes with soup (hopefully their lovely lemon chicken rice soup YUM) salad, main course and their AMAZING rice pudding.\r \r Its a little crowded on Sunday mornings, but well worth the wait. \r \r The waitresses are great! The food is very good, although if you eat anywhere long enough you'll run into an off day or two, but those off days are very few and far between. \r \r Nothing says a nice comfortable, delicious meal like The Other Place. Pros: Tasty food, great wait staff, great customer service, makes me cheerful to eat there Cons: they don't have their lovely lemon rice soup everyday. :( But that's the only one. more

Greatest Greek Food (Especially Gyros) I've Found ANYWHERE!!! 10/2/2007

I have been eating at ""The Other Place"" since it was in the building on the corner next to ""The Place"" Bar (the building still stands and the bar is now Andy's I beleive). I moved away to the NW 14 years ago. I recently made a trip back to Ogden and went out of my way to visit Salt Lake to go to The Other Place. I have found no other Greek Resturant that can even compare to this one. I miss the atmosphere of the other building but I understand why it was moved. More people can now enjoy what is, in my opinion, the best greek food anywhere. The quality of the food is still top notch which seems rare when a resturant expands. I, for one, am certainly not sorry that I went out of my way and ate there again. more

While The Other Place is still one of our favorite restaurants and the best place in SLC for Greek food, we are very disappointed they raised their prices -- substantially. It won't stop us from going but we won't be going as much. Pros: Good food Cons: price increase more

i have been going to the Other Place for years, one of my favorite parts about going is seeing the same staff after all this time. every server goes out of his or her way to make you meal great. my neighbors are greek and i grew up eating greek food. when i went vegetarian one of the foods i missed most were gyros. the other place has GREAT vegetarian gyros availible, i get one every time i go. other places like yanni's dont even compare. not only that, but the food is cheap and the portions are massive. i wouldnt consider going anywhere else for my late night cravings. Pros: great food and service, open late and on sundays Cons: gets crowded for weekend breakfast, parking can be cramped more

One of our favorite spots to eat 2/18/2006

If you want comfort food that is excellent, just the right portions, served by the most friendly people in Salt Lake, this is the place for you. We have been going to The Other Place for many years and while we live on the other end of the valley it is always worth the trip. We have never had a mediocre meal at The Other Place. Try the mezedakia -- it's truly the very best dish they serve. The veggies are always fresh and crisp, the seasonings just perfect, and their warm pita is delicious! Now if you go for breakfast you are in for another treat (although it is served all day). The hashbrowns are the best I have ever eaten -- this is not a greasy spoon. Yummy late night food 3/31/2004

When I was vacationing in Utah, this was one of the restaurants citysearch recommended. The food was so yummy. At about $10 a person before tax and tip, the portions of food are very generous. Everything tastes made from scratch, and is very good. If you have leftovers, they are even good cold the next day. I wish I could find pancakes that tasty back home. This was one of the few places open Sunday nights. Check out the bathroom, they have neat towel dispensers. Parking and the entrance are in the back of the building. Pros: Open sunday night, Great food, Good Value more
