Other Mothers

If you are looking for some baby items and THEN SOME…Other Mothers is definitely a place to stop by especially if you are trying to be frugal. They were “Best of Phoenix” in the New Times (local Phoenix paper) this year and when you get that accolade then you are going to be busy and probably filled to the brim with baby items. So when I brought my three bags worth of baby clothes I had no luck with them taking them. They said they were "not in style" plus not in good condition. I don’t know about the style but most were in excellent condition because I never used them or they were actually purchased at other thrift stores by relatives so they must have been decent. I was shocked they didn't take anything at all. On my way home I noticed that nothing looked like it had been gone through so I don't know if they just took a peek and saw what they didn't want and that was that? That was a bit strange. I guess they are so busy now that that is what they do. I looked throughout the store and they have plenty of everything…baby clothes including holiday ones, maternity, toys, strollers, gates…some prices seemed decent from what I saw. It looked like they have a nice selection so I may go there I the future to buy things there but I don’t think I’ll bother with trying to trade there for a while. more

This is a good consignment shop. The folks are friendly and the place is pretty clean. The selection seems to be getting a bit smaller. The toys are getting pricier and theres not alot in nursing clothing or maternity tho the childrens clothing is great. I like that they offer a credit for your used stuff on the spot and cash at a lower percentage, but they are getting more picky . I mean, I know they won't accept anything stained or ripped (who would) but now they're not taking some items based on "its not in style" (hrm, I thought I had a good sense of style). They are pretty fast going thru your stuff to see what they'll take and its a great way to declutter your clothing and toys that are outgrown. They will also donate whats left to Goodwill for you if you don't want to pick your stuff back up more
