Oro Park Apartments

We have lived at the complex for 7 yrs where Caveat Emptor is still living until the end of the month. Chris has always been fair with us and reminded everyone to please follow the rules. When we signed paperwork, we all agreed to be part of the crime free program. Caveat Emptor is right when she says she was at school during the days and out at night. Her kids had no supervision and when they were at the pool, they took advantage and caused problems. Her kids have been in trouble with the police, fighting on school grounds with serious consequences and there is a pronbation situation. We also wonder about her 6 month continuous guest an d all the traffic in a nd out at night. So we think Chris has been very patient and fair with this person and her situation. We have never heard her yell at anyone and she has never treated us any differently then anyone else, section 8 or not. Please ignore the negative comments because we agree with footer61251, that these are the remarks of a person who has major life issues who cannot assume responsibility for her actions or that of her kids. We certainly agree with all of the positive comments made on behalf of Chris. more

I am a current resident at Oro Park since 2004. Management has treated me great, if it wasnt for Chris these apartments would have been corrupt like the one across the way. I thanks & appreciate her for having me & my family live in peace & harmony with good neighbors. Raising my children in this facility has been outstanding and I appraise Chris Sterling for being am Epitomy of a manager! keep up the good work and to those who left negative commits about these apartments should be ashamed of yourselves... I believe our manager needs a raise for keeping us safe and maintaining her position professional... more

We have been living here for almost two years and we love it!!! Chris is like a mom to us. She works very hard to maintain the properties and she does a darn good job! We have never had any problems since we have lived here. She is very kindhearted and sincere. She is also very dedicated to what she does and it shows!! We have a drug free complex, it is safe and always clean! It is a shame to read what is on the first review because it is far from the truth!! This is by far the best apartment we have lived at!! I have been a resident at Oro Park Apartments for the past five years with no substantial complaints, and, in fact, have never lived in an apartment complex as conducive to a peacegul way of life as Oro Park has been. While Chris does run a tight ship (as any property manager should), she has been open, accountable, and fair in all my contacts with her. Being privvy to the situations alluded to in negative reviews (but needing to maintain confidentiality), I can say unequivocally that these are the remarks of people who have major life issues who cannot assume responsibility for their actions. I have lived in a apartment managed by Chris for more than 10 years and she has been both polite and professional. She is quick to act on complaints and is very even tempered, even when confronted by a hostile person she keeps her cool. I highly recommend anyone who likes piece and quiet to consider living here. I have lived at El Conquistador for four years. Chris is a fantastic manager. Not only does she tirelessly keep the complex safe, clean and quiet, every issue is handled immediately. She is always fair and I suspect the only people that would have a problem with her are those that are doing something WRONG or are disruptive. She has been nothing but kind and courteous to myself and my family. I live on site with Chris and am glad I do. Credible reviews come from long time residents. Please read my headline in case you missed it. Chris is austere, fair, and very attentive to any and all resident needs. She gets work orders submitted in a timely manner, resolves any noise complaints promptly, and is vigilant of the property day and night. The two reviews, below, are skewed based on personal vendettas in my assumption. Maybe the one needing a psychologist is the racist below (themama09). The owner's know they have a tried and true manager on their hands. She deserves praise for all that she has done to keep the communities crime free and drug free and having strong ties with the ECPD. Definitely rent here! Long time El Conquistador Resident. The manager (Chris) has the worst personality and needs to see a Psychiatrist for her over bearing and controlling personality. She will not talk to you, she will just yell at you like you are a child. She will yell at your children for playing and being kids for no reason. If you correct her and try to have a normal conversation like adults, she will just start harassing you till you move out. She is really nutz!!! On a good note, the owners are good people and do hear the complaints about her. I'm sure we are not the first people to run into this control freak (Chris) before. I think its time for the owners to look into filling the management spot with a person who has a personality to do that type of job right, not running the properties like a jail! On another note....She runs another property as well called El Conquistador Apartments on Jamacha Road where she lives....if your brave enough to live near her. the manager chris is a horrible woman. Rude, stuck up and just plain mean. Her and her SS woman in apt 26 will sit out side your window at night and listen to your conversations. My spouse and I have caught the SS woman and her husband doing this quite a few times.\r \r I say SS because those two run that complex like a concentration camp. And this SS woman is just a tendant, she has no authority!! She just thinks she does. In our 18 months there we have seen over 5 families move in and house because it is so bad there. This SS woman in apt 26 well let her kids run and scream thru-out the complex but will put a complant in because my 7 month old is teething. She even made a complant about us making too much noise and no one was home!!
