This is the best bead shop I've ever been in! and I've been in a lot of them. I travel to Raleigh three or four times a year and I always plan to visit the shop and if time allow...

Loads OF Beads 2/2/2006

Ornamentea is the queen bee of all bead stores. You will not find your average, run of the mill, plastic crap beads here. Several friends who make jewelry for resale shop here on a regular basis. If you cannot make it into the store, you can shop online. Ornamentea hosts classes and special group parties as well. more

Great selection 9/27/2005

Ornamentea is a very fun and unique store for jewelery lovers! I have made a few bracelets and necklaces with the tiny simple beads that you can find at any store, but Ornamentea has broadened my horizons! I now have begun to make bracelets with beautiful and interesting beads and I am hooked! The employees are very nice and helpful. I spend at least 2 hours here every visit! more

Holy crap 8/10/2005

A friend of mine works at this store. I had never been in, and made the trip finally today. This place...is fantastic. What I thought it would be is a store with a lot of pre-made jewelry, and a few items that you could make yourself. What it is, is the absolute best collection of beads I have ever seen. Not the $2 beads you would find at your local craft store, but really NICE stuff. I could easily drop a couple hundred dollars in there on beads, and make what would look like designer jewelry. Actually, i imagine people who make designer jewelry shop at this place. It is fantastic. If you like unique jewelry you have to visit. Store located a stones throw from glenwood south. more

Beads Galore 7/8/2005

This is a fascinating little store in down-town Raleigh, filled with wonderful things you didn't know you needed. One of my friends is a beader, and she LOVES this store as they've got quality beads, and a knowedgable, helpful staff. When I visited I was almost overwhelmed by the choices, but if you have a plan and stick to it, or at least as close to it as you can manage, you'll be fine. Alternately, plan on spending several hours admiring tiny bits of glass, metal, and fancy rocks. Too much fun! more
