Great atmosphere 1/3/2012

Ormsby's is one of my favorite spots. They have a wide array of games(ie-boccee ball and shuffle board) coupled with a very nice selection of beers. I would highly suggest Ormsby's to anyone who is looking for a fun-filled night in a unique atmosphere. more

Just love this place! 9/24/2011

Ormsby's is everything a bar should be - even the doorman is supercool and fun! Beer list is exceptional, food is really great - burgers, dogs, pub food etc. each served with a unique twist. Yeah, it's almost always crowded, but if you're a twenty or thirty-something and looking for a date, this is the place to go. I've rarely seen such a group of happy, good-looking, fun-loving people of all races - guys and girls - in one place at the same time. Games in the lower level, more room upstairs. You can sit and eat at the bar, too. Give it a try! more

What I Dreamed Happened In Bars As A Child 1/4/2011

Ormsby's does a lot of things really well. There is parking right next to the bar. I've never gotten there and been fussed about trying to find a park space. more

Not great. 11/6/2010

This place was not all it's hyped up to be. The parking is free and close by with plenty of spots. The decor is great with a BIG screen TV. The beer selection was great. On the bad side, our waitress was very rude and talked down to us because we were younger than then average crowd. The bar area got crowded and spilled over into the seated section. Unfortunately this made it difficult to move around from your chair or sit comfortably. There is also no smoking allowed which I hate at a bar so that was a big minus. At the end of the evening a random waitress came by to clear our drinks and took away one full $12 gin and tonic and half of a $10 beer. When we asked the waitress what happened she claimed she didn't throw out the drinks. She argued with us for a while until a manager came over. My friend had to discuss the situation for several minutes before they would replace his drink. Very annoying and unprofessional. Plus the door guy didn't laugh at my joke which was really uncool. Enjoy this place at your own risk! more

Unique and Crazy Cool 2/28/2010

This place just oozes cool. The people, the concept, the space are all chic -- merely walking inside the place ups your own cool quotient just by association. And the beer selection is great. Try the Tripel Karmeliet -- one taste warrants a Homer Simpson-esque ""mmmmm beer."" There's a plethora of games to be played or watched, including indoor bocce ball. And while I'm normally more focused on the drink list, I couldn't help but notice the space itself. I'm hyper-observant and tactile, and this place was like a textural playground for my eyes -- stone walls, brick walls, copper counters, wood paneling, exposed pipes, cement floors, huge wood plank stairs. I'm not sure how a place with such an industrial feel also manages to be so warm and inviting, but it does. If only I knew about this place back during football season. I get the feeling it would be an excellent place to watch a game. more

Modernized childhood nostalgia at its best 2/14/2010

If you were one of those kids that was always super-excited for the carnival to come to town, it's time to get excited all over again. And this carnival, as far as I know, has no plans of leaving town anytime soon. Ok, so there aren't any tilt-a-whirls or prizes to be won, but the menu features fancier versions of some of your favorite play-time junk foods like hot boiled peanuts, parmesan rosemary popcorn, hand-dipped corn dogs, maple sugar cotton candy, and caramel corn with candied pecans. A solid beer list is one of the only things in Ormsby's that will remind you that you are still a ""grown-up""...well, sort of. And if you're the playing it cool type, check out the intriguing selection of sandwiches and salads. Downstairs is the reason you came - the games. The highlight is the indoor bocce ball court, but you'll have to wait your turn! Write your name on the whiteboard and hang out. Don't worry though - there are plenty of other games to keep you entertained, such as shuffleboard, pool, darts, checkers, and classic video games like Donkey Kong. Definitely check Ormsby's out, but don't do it on a night when I'm there. I don't like waiting my turn. I want to play games NOW!!!! Pros: games, gastro-junk food Cons: having to wait to play games more
