Although my husband and I had been told by friends and family that is raising a puppy is like raising an infant we were in for a shock when decided to welcome a very high energy, hypoallergenic miniature Golden Doodle to our family. As cuddly and teddy bear cute as Maggie Mae was, she was also not potty or crate trained, had no obedience training at all, had guarding issues, and struggled with being over-ly social, if there is such a thing. When we tried to walk on a leash she got very excited about each person we walked past, and would have to run to them to say hi and get attention. While this was a great way to meet our neighbors, walking with Maggie in a social setting on a leash was impossible. As new puppy owners, one of our concerns was whether or not we even had the right crate set up in our home. We struggled with putting her in the crate at night and wanted to be sure that we were doing everything we could to make our puppy comfortable. We called Mariah because we were looking for a one-on-one training with someone that would be willing to come home and customize our trainings just for Maggie. Mariah not only helped us with crate training Maggie, but each time she came we worked on a different skill. As working people, it was very convenient that she was able to come to us. Each training was about an hour long. It started out with Mariah asking us how Maggie was doing, followed by walking us through how we can address each problem. We would walk through various training lessons with Maggie during the hour time, then she would tell us things to work in-between lessons to reiterate the skill. At just 9 months old now, Maggie can now sit, lay down, stay, walks on a leash, and is completely potty and crate trained. As newlyweds, my husband are and I are careful with our money, and I can say without doubt that Mariah's training is an outstanding value for the peace of mind we now have as owners have a very happy, well trained puppy dog that has a foundation of skills that she will have for life.
