When refinancing my house I needed a termite inspection report. Last year, I stupidly signed a ten yr treatment contract with Orkin. Figuring that they are in the business of termite control / inspections, it should be no problem for this company to give me a report. Well, when I called this branch I was informed that they do not offer inspection reports for mortgages because that is a state required "LEGAL FORM". Why would a termite control company not offer this. Is it because the state won't allow them to?? I can see no reason for a company to voluntarily not offer this service. It is something they can charge money for and increase profits. Therefore, it must be out of their control. I'm not willing to trust or give (more of ) my money to a company that cannot fully support their own service. Needless to say, they will not receive another cent of my money. I will find a small local company to do business with.
