Just had an awesome Valentine's dinner with my husband. We both had the New York Steak w/peppercorn sauce, yum. The whole meal and the service were very good. We live in Hillsboro...

I went to Orenco Grill for a working lunch. I have had a decent hamburger there in the past. I made the mistake of ordering the Chinese chicken salad. After I ate it I heard a dif...

Adequate, but just barely 6/12/2008

Our experience at Orenco Grill was unexceptional. The service, which I would give a ""B"" rating, was efficient and courteous. The atmosphere is like most newish bar & grill estabilishments with mid grade finish work, canned artwork, piped in DMX for background sound, and painted a color that was popular in the last few years. The food was definitely the low light. The pricing would suggest a mid-level quality kitchen, but the reality was I've had equivalent fair at Applebees or Marie Callander (sp?). The ""reduction"" put on the steak was definitely straight out of a bottle. The mashed potatos tasted like boxed potatos (all be it with flecks of skin in them), the wines by the glass were pretty marginal (still charged $9-$12 per though) and the salad was 95% iceberg lettuce with all of your dressing choices being from a bottle as well. There was nothing about the eveing that I would complain to managment about, but when comparing the experience to one that I had one week prior at Beesaw's on 23rd for the exact same price point I was left underwhelmed. Pros: Pleasant servers Cons: Food more

As for service during happy hour it is usually just the bartender which she does beautifully. Luch can get crazy at times, but usually the only problem you will have is the during the day you will have the new servers that are cluless, and will be like that for a very long time, night time you will have the the more experience but greedy servers that will charger for everything. more

My last visit to this restaurant 4/2/2008

03/31/08 We've been here befoe and were happy with our food. But on this date, the New York steaks had so much gristle, they couldn't be chewed. Caesar Salads were all white, tasteless lettuce, with very liitle dressing.. Even the baked potatoes had been around the block. Our group of four all had the same opinions of the food and will take our business elsewhere. more

New Fav in the Burbs! 3/27/2008

Found this place on accident and have been in several times. Fantastic wine list. I have gotten steak every time and have never been disappointed. Nice to go someplace without having to drive downtown and not a chain restaurant. Pros: Atmosphere, wine, location Cons: parking more

Fantastic! 3/18/2008

First time visitor. Decor was beautiful and calming. The food was fantastic! more

Our Server ROCKED! - Food was great too! 1/25/2008

So this was my first time dining at the Orenco Station Grill. I admit I was a little worried after reading some of the reviews regarding the service, as I had invited a couple that dines out frequently and insists on exceptional and attentive service. I think we came in as the shift was changing because it seemed like it started off a little slow but once our server got our drink order, I could tell we were in good hands. Dustin was polite, attentive, and friendly, you name it. At one point I felt like we were the only people in the whole restaurant because we were having such a good time and he just kept it going. Plates never stacked up, our glasses were always full, and he seemed genuinely interested in our thoughts on the quality of the food, cocktails and choice of wine. To top it off, when my partner left her to-go box behind, Dustin chased us down the sidewalk to make sure she got it before we were long gone. WAY TO GO DUSTIN! I had the Halibut and I?m super picky about my seafood. IT WAS SOOOO GOOD! I suppose if you opt for a table, and stay away from the bar where apparently the owner likes to hang out, you should be alright! I?ll be back! more

Good food - lunchtime 12/6/2007

I came here a # of times. Always has good food. Worries me now though as their young cook (was 20something - white guy with a goatee) has left. Should have kept him, never had uncooked chicken, you know. Mgr gone too I think. Always sat at the bar. You know man - just hire good guys, keep good guys - lose the rest. Your busser's need to work on their skills. I heard cook went to Reedville Cafe from a coworker just now. Maybe will check it out. Never been there. If it has a bar then I am good to go!! :-) more

I recently moved to the Orence area and have visited the grill on multiple occasions. I was impressed on my last visit by their new lunch menu. My server told me they are now featuring weekly food specials. I ordered steak bites and they were fantastic, at a good price and came with good steak fries and a caesar salad. Every time I have dined at the grill the food has been good and the atmosphere splendid. I have enjoyed taking vistiors here because this is a unique restaurant that i love which is hard to find in the commercialized suburbs. It seems that they are dedicated to making improvements and new management is much more in touch. I look forward to dining at the Orenco Station Grill again and encourage everyone to do the same. Pros: Great location, good people more

Second Time Around 9/24/2007

Like the previous reviewer, we moved to Orenco for the SAME reasons in April of this year. I, too, read the reviews and we decided to try anyhow. We were not terribly disappointed. But it was a bit rough around the edges. I, at that time, felt bad for the reviews that had been given. Pros: POTENTIAL PLUS......great location and cute Cons: The Owner is not client oriented more

NEVER AGAIN!!!! 9/21/2007

WE went to this horrid place last night. It appears to be a nice restaurant because of the beautiful decor. However, the service is slow and unattentive. We ordered Mahi Mahi, a steak, and salmon. The MAHI MAHI was way raw in the middle and had blo o d dripping out of it and was drenched in lemon sauce. The steak was pale and rubbery. The salmon was greasy and overcooked. Our salads were pathetic served on plates the size of a coffee saucer not to mention the lettuce was iceberg and brown on the sides. A couple of my lettuce leaves were gooey inside. That was grocery store salad in a bag I guess???? Pros: Location. Beautiful restaurant and our server was nice. Cons: Overpriced for such low quality food and paper napkins. more

Good first experience! 9/4/2007

We bought a house in Orenco Gardens late last November. Two of our reasons for buying here were the proximity to the Max line and the stores and restaurants within walking distance. I've been dismayed to read some of the very negative remarks about this place because it's located so close to us. more

Very good time 8/13/2007

We stopped in for an early dnner and had a wonderful time. I don't know why some people write nasty things, perhaps they are just nasty people? Pros: Very comfortable and good Cons: A bit of a drive to get there (but worth the trip) more

A Pleasant Surprise...things have improved! 8/7/2007

We recently moved to the Orence Area and tried the OSG for lunch. It was good but not one we felt we would return to with so many other options in the neighborhood. A month or so later I stopped in with a friend for a glass of wine at the bar. Teh wine by the glass list was pretty pricey and the wine glasses were like tea cups...............adding insult to injury. Pros: Close to our home and the light rail, good food in lively setting Cons: None really for the $$. more

They should close this horrible place!!! 6/11/2007

I come to Hillsboro on business every so often. I came to the Orenco Station Grill for appetizers and drinks. I ordered some sliders (small hamburger) and all it had in them was bun meat and some funky sauce. What I bit into was the most disgusting thing ever. The beef patty was bloody raw on the inside!!! The waitress told not to panic. Pros: Looks nice Cons: Poor quality food, horrible service, high priced more

Orenco Station Grill Reluctant to Fix Health Issues 4/6/2007

Today on KPTV Orenco Station Grill was ""showcased""; Cons: Serious health concerns. more

Daytime review 3/31/2007

Came here again around 12:30 on a Friday in June. Could see 2 cooks (1 older & 1 young) from where I was sitting. Had to wait a little to get order put in but not bad. Very busy - lunch rush. Young guy(chef) made my meal before so I asked waitress if he was making sandwichs today. She said yes - older guy salads etc... more

Lets Orenco Down 3/24/2007

My fiance and I were so disappointed by this place. Grossly overpriced for what you get, sad presentation and, in our case, slow and so-so service. If you're out in Hillsboro or Beaverton, definitely go for the Hall Street Grill instead. Better, much more beautiful food for about the same price. Pros: Nice location, super-easy parking Cons: Bad service, bad presentation, mediocre food more

great ambiance, romantic 2/19/2007

I enjoyed my time at Orenco Station Grill. Our night night started off with a beautiful bartender who took great care of us. When we were done waiting for our table, we had a young male server who was extremely professional and faboulous. He recommended the sauteed halibut and it was delicious. I also had a ceasar salad, which was worth paying extra for. This is a great restaurant in the area, the best in town, make sure to to stop by the bar, Sara is worth seeing. Pros: Great service, excellent ambiance Cons: no kids menu more

Orenco Station Grill 2/11/2007

This first-rate restaurant offers personalized service, a classic environment, and superb food. I ordered the New York Steak, caeser salad, and caramalized onion mashed potatoes (not to mention the tastiest cheese cake I have had in who knows how long). The steak was cooked to perfection; the salad was a great introduction to the main entree, and I couldn't stop eating the mashed potatoes. Conclusion: this restaurant cooks stock grill menu items well and consistently. Yes, the price is just a bit high, but, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a romantic atmosphere or is just tired of the ""run of the mill"" restaurant scene. The server took care of all of us and never dummied down our role as customers; he served politely, we ate, and left satisfied. Also, the wine is well priced too. Thanks Orenco Station Grill. more

Watch it! 12/10/2006

I had the southwestern chicken salad, advertised with a grilled chicken breast. There 5 little bites of chicken and lame iceberg lettuce. The most awful. BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU CHARGE, THEY WILL ADD EXTRA TO THE TIP AMOUNT!! Pros: nice location Cons: will add extra to tip amount on charges more

  • In Short
This restaurant is like a saloon crossed with a brasserie. Except for a brightly lit bar, the dining room is all dim lights and dark-wood booths. Steaks are the big draw here....
