I had stopped in to look around and one of the staff members was very helpful and nice in showing me around, pointing out the different products they carry, explaining what they do (e.g. they mostly sell wholesale and can make arrangements but it's not core business, etc.). I went back a few weeks later and purchased supplies (orchids, planters/pots, moss, etc) to make several table centerpieces for an event - with the assistance of the woman who helped me during my first visit. The prices are comparable to the downtown L.A. Flower Mart but much more convenient and less chaotic. They only sell plants and no cut flowers but that can work to your advantage. I had several plant displays but I also had cut flower displays. I purchased one orchid plant with 4 giant spikes for $30 - compare that to the $25 per stem that the Flowers Wholesale shop on Santa Monica Blvd in West Hollywood charges. The prices will vary depending on the stage of the bloom. For example, I bought 3 of the same orchid plant on sale and the prices were something like $18, $20, $23. I know you can buy orchids just about everywhere now (e.g. Trader Joe's, etc) but if you want a wide selection in stock without having to pre-order and most importantly you need orchid-advice/expertise, this is the place to go!\r

I would give Orchid Fever 4-1/2 stars if I could. It was a really good experience but not a perfect one. For instance, the woman who helped me carry my many plants to the car was very rough with my plants. I was planning to use the orchids as displays and she was shoving them in my car and running the entire length of the blooms along the top edge of my car as she was putting them in, etc. It made me cringe and I tried to joke that luckily orchids are hardy plants!
Pros: Large instock selection of orchids and supplies, orchid expertise, excellent value
