Orchards Veterinary Clinic

I (along with my extended family) have been coming to this office for many years, so we speak from experience. If you knew this veterinary office in the glory of when Rick owned and operated it, you will not want to return under its current ownership and management. They no longer care about their long time customers or their pets. It is ONLY all about nickel and diming you, and the bottom dollar. The prices for everything have gone WAY up, and the quality of service (from the front office to the vets) are in the gutter. This is such a sad, sad ending for a clinic that was practically a legend with Rick there; I loved and felt so comfortable bringing my pets there. Do yourself a favor and find a vet that actually cares about your pet, and keep driving past this place. more

I went on Per Meds and called two other Veterinary Clinic in Vancouver looking for + for my dog and two cats. The cost was going to be over $150 dollars for all three. Kathy was so helpful and talked about each product and them told me that I could buy the largest size of + and they would give me a syringe to use and then gave me the doses , so I could use them on all three animals. So, the cost was under $60 for all three animals. That is good customer service. more

I've been going to Orchards Vet for several years and I have to disagree with the comment on the front office. The vast majority of ladies in the front office are very professional and helpful. I was there yesterday and I observed the busy front office staff being cordial, professional, and considerate. Don't let one bad apple in the front discourage you from getting the excellent care these doctors and techs offer. I have competition dogs and these vets know how to sleuth out and treat unusual infections and injuries. My old vet in Beaverton charged me $150 for a shot and some pills, including $10 just to put the pills in the bottle. A friend referred me to Orchards Vet, where I took my 3 month old puppy (who was going down hill rapidly) and they jumped into action. They saved my puppy's life when they cultured a bad infection, found out he had a pseudomonas infection (a very aggressive bacteria that responds to only one antibiotic), and took aggressive action, and it cost a lot less than $150. They know how to handle difficult situations (my rescue is terrified of people) and make special arrangements to accommodate difficult situations. Another thing I like is that the doctors are happy to answer questions and give explanations in language that non-medical people can understand. more

This is a very busy animal hospital with excellent veterinarians who seem knowledgeable, friendly and compassionate. Their staff, on the other hand, acts like they're dying from overwork and doing you a favor to speak with you. The parking situation is horrendous. A new location would really be in order. Prepare to wait a long time to see the vet but, as I said, the doctors are really good here.. more
