Great Programs 3/8/2018

this is the best program we have found for football, baseball and cheerleading. not only do they have all kids play, this organization does so much more for the community. They support a special scout troop, give scholarships to one senior in every high school in Arlington ISD that is selected by the schools, they have scholarship contests like the oratorical contest, the essay contest and a contest for hard of hearing students. They are so much more than sports. This is an ALL Volunteer organization and they really listen to constructive criticism and welcome anyone into the organization that wants to make changes for the better. They are the BEST! more

This league is not about the kids or football 10/15/2016

It really bothers me when adult politics and egos get in the way of kid sports. Refusing to allow a kid to even practice a different position when they ask because they are bored and tired of playing the same spot for 2 years is a sure way to burn them out of the sport completely. And then, not allowing parents to take pictures of their kid's game from one side of a field, even with a badge allowing them access is ridiculous. I'm a rule follower, but if the only justification of a rule is "it's always been that way", then it's time to revisit it. Rules should be purposeful and necessary, not arbitrary and useless. Then after the deplorable things that happened with refs last week (causing injuries and allowing massive unsportsmanlike behaviors), we are about done with this league. The sad part is, the boys love playing football (or they did, anyway). more

Wont be long 10/21/2009

The Arlington Optimist board and group that run the football program are going to find it hard to stay a float in the future. This group has allways had the corner of the youth football market in Arlington. Now that other organizations have grown, the numbers are finally starting to drop. The problem is that the old heads of the Optimist are very difficult to deal with. They are very confrintational, beligerant, and in this for all the wrong reasons. These are a group of people who make themselves feel better by pushing around grown men who want to coach youth football. If you other options for child in your sports please go else where. The organazation is old and has not evolved over the years. John Palmarchuck, Charlie McNutt, Cecil Sanford, and Gurvin Neil are whats wrong with this program. more

Great team sport organization 7/21/2005

This is the greatest team sport opportunity for all kids from kindergarten through 6th grade. It is well organized and family orientated. My son played here all his young years and I was impressed at how well it is run. Once in a great while their might be a distasteful coach in the bunch but very rare. more
