Open Arms new Director and staff have grown this program into one of the very best in the Twin Cities. Having raised two sons I can confidently say Open Arms is one of the most complete and advanced early childhood programs when it comes to preparing children for kindergarten and beyond. The staff are all absolutely first rate and the most highly trained, conscientious, loving, attentive and caring individuals; its an absolute joy to see them interact and work with children. They utilize individual and comprehensive development plans for each child with a progress tracking system to keep parents informed daily. Open Arms is a terrific daycare/preschool for your little ones. It's a small center affiliated with Holy Emmanuel Lutheran Church. The teachers are all very caring and provide great activities for the kids. There is a good mix of active play and educational time, as well as chapel time at Holy Emmanuel. Open Arms definitely has a community feel and your children will feel well cared for here. more

Run do not stop if you are looking at this childcare center. As a previous parent I can honestly say I was very happy with this school for the first 2 years my baby was there, but since october of 2003 it has not been the same. I was happy with this center because it was different than CHAIN centers. However the new management that took over on 10/03 has run it into the ground. It is no longer a nice homey christian center. Now it is no different than your big typical chain centers. When looking for a child care center it is important to have your children first and foremost. At Open Arms children are 2nd to making money. I have been informed by my childs preschool teacher that they are not purchasing supplies for the kids to do art projects because they do not have the money for it. I do not pay 500 dollars a month so my child can sit around and do nothing, no art, no sensory it is terrible. more
