It's unfortunate that I never got the chance to taste the food here. So why am I reviewing this place and giving such a low rating, you asked? Because during the first (and yes it will be the last) time I visited Opah, the service was excruciatingly god awful. We left before ordering.
I made reservations at 7:30 for my mom's birthday dinner. We arrived at 7:15 and found that the restaurant was packed. Good thing I made reservations right? Wrong! We waited until 7:45 and were then told that they "accidentally" gave away our table. "If you want to wait for another table," they said "the next one won't open for another 30 minutes."
At this point, I was livid. What is the point of making reservations then if the restaurant is just going to "accidentally" give it away? But I tried the new breathing exercises from yoga and we continued to wait. Another 45 minutes flew by yet still no word on this "next table" and meanwhile I was getting brushed off. When I finally got the hostess' attention, I expressed my dissatisfaction and asked for the manager only to be told that he was busy in the back. The consolation prize was to sit at the bar and complain to the lead bartender. OK?!? Yes, please drown my anger in more gin as we celebrate my mom's birthday around the bar. At this point, I had enough. We left ... livid, hungry, and livid.
It's a shame that I'll never come back to test out their supposedly kicking seafood and fries.
Pros: Hip scene, ambience, lot parking
Cons: Horrible service
