My wedding was absolutely wonderful! However, that was no thanks to Ooh! Events. We hired them 8 months prior to our date for furniture rental and floral. In the beginning, Ooh!'s planner, Michelle, really understood our vision and was a pleasure to work with! I really loved her! Then, suddenly 2 months before the wedding she stopped responding to emails and phone calls. Naturally I contacted the owner, Lisa Thomas, to get things straightened out. She was immediatley brash and rude, and made me feel that it was my fault that her employee under-quoted us and was totally unorganized as far as our ""file"" went. The entire time she was acting like they were doing me a HUGE favor for handling our wedding since her employee made these mistakes. Keep in mind, these quotes were made 8 months prior to our wedding. So I was totally shocked to me hearing all of this now. This conversation should have never even occured between an business owner and the bride. She should have been managing her staff better and treating the bride (me) with care and respect. Instead she was defensive and actually suggested, a month before the wedding, that I go with another rental company for our wedding (while I was crying on the phone with her). She never even apologized while I was in such distress. This was said to THE BRIDE less than 2 months before her wedding!!!! I had nowhere to turn so I had to play ""their game"", be cordial, and just have them do our wedding with the prices they orginally quoted. It was too late for me to find anything else, and believe me I tried.
I won't get into all of the details, but to top everything off, we were left with an invoice which included things that they never delivered. The $250 chandelier I rented was not even lit (which was the centerpiece of the entire reception)!! They charged us for 5 hanging lanterns when we only had 4, and we are still trying to get reimbursed for that. On the contract she charged us $50 per lantern, plus tax, plus damage waiver, and installation. Lisa, for some crazy reason, only wants to refund us an even $40. What?!!
My wedding was the best day of my life... but if anyone could have warned me about this company prior, it would have saved a lot of trouble. This is your special day and anyone you are hiring should make you feel wonderful about it! You should not be treated like you are a disposable bride, since after all, when will they be getting your business again?. It is really awful that any wedding business owner would feel that this behavior is acceptable! I hope this helps!!
Pros: They act like they are GREAT and understand your vision!
Cons: They do not deliver what they promise!
