Your guests will Ooh & Ahh!!! 12/25/2011

Who is the first person that comes to mind when you think of your most creative friend? I can now name a whole crew... Out of Hand has been my & my daughters' ""go-to"" since they opened & showed Mount Pleasant their knack for creating the handmade, showcasing one of a kind found objects, and making arrangements for home, table, vase, and walls that impress any shopper! Now we can add to their talents not only the way they uniquely select items to stock their warehouse of event rentals, but also the way they provide undivided attention to every detail their clients deem important. This group truly knew how to anticipate our desires! As a mother of one of the Ooh Events brides, I had full assurance in the abilities of Lisa, Terri, and Jerri to go ABOVE & BEYOND our expectations! more

Great Wedding Rentals, Flowers, and Planning! 12/1/2011

The best part about Ooh! Events is that it is a one stop shop! They organize, plan, print invitations etc, make flower arrangements, and have rentals. They have an amazing selection of rentals including vintage pieces, formal, colorful, classic, and basic. If you want it or have seen it in a magazine they have it in their warehouse! Kathyrn was very responsive to emails, worked hard to make my vision come together, and made appropriate suggestions and recommendations along the way. I think their services and rentals are very reasonable. I highly recommend them to help with the details of your wedding! more

Kathryn Aydlett is Amazing 10/25/2011

My husband and I planned a unique event in lieu of a private reception following our ceremony. We produced an art event featuring over 30 artists in which donations and artwork sales benefitted the American Heart Association. Our event coordinator, Kathryn Aydlett was beyond resourceful and creative to help make our event a success. She was extremely responsive to questions we had and even helped with the installation of the art exhibit until the wee hours of the morning. That's commitment and going above and beyond! We highly recommend her and Ooh! Events for any event no matter how out of the box it may be! more

Hiting Ooh Events was the single best decision... 7/6/2011

Hiring Ooh Events was the single best decision I made during the planning of my June 2011 wedding. Lisa and Jan took my vision (really a bunch of cut-out pictures and the ""feel"" I was going for) and made it into a reality. Lisa and Jan took care of everything from the rentals to the planning to the flowers to a last minute request from the groomsmen. They anticipated our wants and needs before we even had them. I would recommend them to anybody. Love Lisa and Jan! more

Ooh Events was Ooh so awesome!!! 3/7/2011

This was WELL worth the money. I felt so calm leading up to and the day of my wedding and it was a direct result of hiring OOh Events. Everything was perfect. Even when my brother (who was to give me away) did not have pants in his Tux they went to work calmly and right away to try to secure me what I needed even though we rented the tux in Atlanta. The flowers were beautiful and reasonably priced. They even transported us around that day taking us from the hair salon to the church. I didn't have to worry about a thing. I highly recommend them. They pulled off a first class wedding and all of my guests were impressed with how smoothly everything went from the rehearsal to the send off. Also, my bridal party (i.e. sister and BFF) didn't have to go crazy with all of the details. They were able to just be a ""part of"" and enjoy the day just as much as everyone else. Thanks Ooh!!! more

Seamless Production 2/17/2010

With a hundred questions needed to pull together our event, the staff at ooh Events was able to predict additional questions and already had researched answers with optional solutions. The turn-around time was fast, ahead of schedule and well within budget. Pros: Thousand questions answered, timely and honestly Cons: Wish we had met OOH Events earlier, making life easier more

Ooh so unprofessional! 10/21/2009

I contracted with Ooh! Events for my intimate wedding because of their vintage china and silver. From my research, they were the only vendor in Charleston to offer these unique rentals. I had also planned to use them for day-of coordination and florals. I was first in touch with Michelle and she was very friendly and professional via e-mail. Then I received an e-mail from Lisa, the owner, and never heard from Michelle again. Lisa was initially nice via e-mail, aloof during our first and only in-person meeting, and continuously rude via e-mail over the course of 6+ months. I even received an all caps e-mail from her. Here are a few highlights of my experience with Ooh! Events... I had to find a new day-of coordinator (Interestingly, when I was checking references for a new coordinator, I talked to two other brides who had bad experiences with Ooh! Events); I didn't have the look I envisioned for the dining table because all of Ooh! Events' vintage silver was stolen the week before our wedding; they arrived late with the high cocktail tables I ordered - three minutes before the end of the ceremony - and dropped one table making a loud noise during the closing of our ceremony. To their credit, the china was beautiful. I think Ooh! Events has a good creative team, but that does not make them good business people. Customer service and professionalism are seriously lacking. I did not feel that our business was valued - we did not even get a simple 'thank you.' I felt that our wedding was just one of several as Lisa made it a point to emphasize in one e-mail that it was their ""busiest week of the year."" That may be, but do you really tell your clients that the week of their wedding? Happy wedding planning!\r Pros: Beautiful vintage china Cons: Lack of e-mail etiquette; late delivery; unprofessional more

Dream come true! 9/16/2009

I can't say enough about Lisa Thomas and her staff- they have miles of creativity plus the talent to focus that on my vision! To say I was amazed at how fabulous my reception appeared to me is an understatement and my flowers were so beautiful that my mother actually cried. I loved working with Lisa for each and every detail and I have to say a special thank you to Jerri Heater for coordinating it all. My wedding was over three months ago and my friends are all still talking about it. \r \r Pros: creative, genuine, fun more

Do not be fooled! 6/8/2009

My wedding was absolutely wonderful! However, that was no thanks to Ooh! Events. We hired them 8 months prior to our date for furniture rental and floral. In the beginning, Ooh!'s planner, Michelle, really understood our vision and was a pleasure to work with! I really loved her! Then, suddenly 2 months before the wedding she stopped responding to emails and phone calls. Naturally I contacted the owner, Lisa Thomas, to get things straightened out. She was immediatley brash and rude, and made me feel that it was my fault that her employee under-quoted us and was totally unorganized as far as our ""file"" went. The entire time she was acting like they were doing me a HUGE favor for handling our wedding since her employee made these mistakes. Keep in mind, these quotes were made 8 months prior to our wedding. So I was totally shocked to me hearing all of this now. This conversation should have never even occured between an business owner and the bride. She should have been managing her staff better and treating the bride (me) with care and respect. Instead she was defensive and actually suggested, a month before the wedding, that I go with another rental company for our wedding (while I was crying on the phone with her). She never even apologized while I was in such distress. This was said to THE BRIDE less than 2 months before her wedding!!!! I had nowhere to turn so I had to play ""their game"", be cordial, and just have them do our wedding with the prices they orginally quoted. It was too late for me to find anything else, and believe me I tried. I won't get into all of the details, but to top everything off, we were left with an invoice which included things that they never delivered. The $250 chandelier I rented was not even lit (which was the centerpiece of the entire reception)!! They charged us for 5 hanging lanterns when we only had 4, and we are still trying to get reimbursed for that. On the contract she charged us $50 per lantern, plus tax, plus damage waiver, and installation. Lisa, for some crazy reason, only wants to refund us an even $40. What?!! My wedding was the best day of my life... but if anyone could have warned me about this company prior, it would have saved a lot of trouble. This is your special day and anyone you are hiring should make you feel wonderful about it! You should not be treated like you are a disposable bride, since after all, when will they be getting your business again?. It is really awful that any wedding business owner would feel that this behavior is acceptable! I hope this helps!! Pros: They act like they are GREAT and understand your vision! Cons: They do not deliver what they promise! more
