I am a very upset and concerned sister my brother Scottie is an inmate at the Onondaga County Jail and I think the people that work there are very unpleasant and inconsiderate. Inmate's should still be treated like people also. Our father went to see my brother on Wednesday November 22,2006 and he sat there for two and a half hours just for a guard to tell him something happend and he couldn't see my brother. Well my brother called us the very next day and told us he is in University Hospital and he has been there since Monday November 20,2006. Our father was very upset. Someone at the jail should have told my father my brother went to the hospital on Monday. Then my father went to the hospital Monday November 27,2006 he was leaving and the Doctor called him and told him to come back it was life or death. My brother had a hole in his colon and they had to do an emergency surgery. My father was told by a guard on the inmate floor to go back to the jail and they would give him another pass to come back. So we went back to the jail and they told us he already had a visit and we could go see him a even though he just had a major surgery he had all of his colen removed except a half inch. That upset us because he was still in recovery. He didn't know we were there. They could have let us see him for ten minuets to see how he was and to tell him we will come back up. So I will rate them at poor. State prisons arten't as bad as this county jail. Thank you for listening.
