Ono Hawaiian Bbq

Brought home 2 loco mocos, and 1 appetizer.  Decent enough value, but the flavors are really lacking.  Like they don't care at all about the finished product.  So sad, because the Hawaiian restaurant at the corner of Taraval and 19th had better customer service and better food, and they had to close.  Learn a lesson there, Ono Hawaiian. more

DO NOT go here! hubby and i ordered food to go from this place yesterday we both and literally got stomach issues! we ordered loco moco over rice and a combination plate, so they're different things, but we both got the same effect! \r \r the sad part is that the food is good, it must be the kitchen staff. yuch! do they not wash their hands? i told them ""well done"" too, and no one seemed to have bothered to listen.\r \r that's too bad, because they really could have good potential. more

One lazy day, looking for a quick meal, we stopped at Ono Hawaiian BBQ. I was very disappointed. I have tried this place in the past and the food seems to have gotten worse over time. The BBQ chicken was dry and I could've cooked a better one myself. It looked like someone just took a slab of chicken breast and threw it over the rice. Served with it was rice, some bland cabbage buried at the bottom of the chicken and a very, very sm serving of mac salad. The kalua pork was even worse. It was bitter and tasted like gasoline. Even if it's further away, I'd recommend driving all the way to L&L in Daly City. Not only is the food tastier, the presentation is better looking in the take out-box, for Pete's sake.
