Overpriced and Unfriendly 2/14/2012

I have to follow the same sentiments as the other reviews. I sought out this store for a specific designer's pattern. I was excited to find the store only 2 blocks from my house! First it was extremely awkward to buzz in - I first thought they were closed. I also found the lady in the store (only her and I in there) to be snotty and patronising - unwilling to engage in friendly dialogue. The Amy Butler pattern was over $30! I went home and found the pattern at Amazon for $12 plus an Amy Butler book for less than that - I would love to support my community's stores but I demand reasonable prices and a friendly attitude in return. more

It's a real shame that she acted this way because I was in the market for a new machine! more

Just soso 8/11/2005

The small but nice selection of fabrics, notions and books are beautifully displayed in the shop. Honestly, the merchandising is the best part of visiting Once Upon A Quilt. The prices are the same as what you'd find in most quilt shops. For the most part, the staff is pretty nice although they tend to make you feel kind of self-conscious as you are looking around. However, I found the owner quite abrasive so I stopped going in. There are some other quilt shops in the area where I feel much more welcomed. Lastly, I feel kind of weird going into a quilt shop where I have to be buzzed in! Pros: Neat & organized, Very clean, Merchandizing Cons: Selection is small, Not always friendly more
