This may be the oldest continually operating hotel in America, but it doesn't show it. So you get the benefit of both lovely architecture and decent rooms (OK, they're nothing to write home about, but they do the job fine). The hotel also has a really nice bar. It's also quite near the center of the city, so everything you want is within distance.
