Olivia's is named after the owners' daughter. Food is very good. They do a great flounder! Price is reasonable - it's a little more than average for Gloucester but by no means unreasonable. The food is also a a bit better than average for Gloucester too. Three of us ate a few nights ago for $75 with a couple of drinks and tip included. That's not bad at all in my book.
The wait staff is always more than attentive and pleasant. This is a place locals come back to over and over.
I found a new favorite side the other night but think it was an occassional thing... Vegetable soup. I hope they have it when I go back next time. I make a great vegetable soup myself, and this is every bit as good as I make...
Being from New Orleans good food is expected. For the most part we have been disappointed since we moved to Virginia. Not with Olivia's though. We have been repeatedly pleased over and over.
The only reason I didn't give it that last star (I'd do 9 out of 10 if they rated that high), is I wish they had a few more entre options.
Edit -- I forgot to add. There's also Olivia's at the Courthouse (or something like that) on Main Street -- at the old Cheryl's Shack location. Similarly great food, and even nicer atmosphere!
