Terrible Service 4/20/2011

The menu is good, food is ok, tiramisu was recommended but was the worst I've ever had and tiramisu is my favorite dessert. Overall will not go back just because of service. It was slow but our waiter never checked up on us and we had to constantly ask assistance from the hostess. I have been to their sister Trevelli and think their service is by far better. more

Small business invoice not paid 11/21/2010

Why support a family-owned restaurant that doesn't pay a small change bill from a small business vendor? There are too many other fine restaurants in Kirkland - spend your money somewhere else. more

Such bad service and inconsistent food 3/22/2010

You never know what you're going to get here and the food is low quality... I lived in Turkey for years and this is not good Turkish food. And this restaurant has the lousiest servers... food takes forever to arrive, the orders are incorrect, and each person's meal arrives about twenty minutes apart from their dinner companions. Pros: every so often, your meal actually shows up Cons: service is lousy and food is inconsistent more

BEWARE OF TALL DARK CURLY HAIRED SERVER 8/4/2009

Terrible experience. Went in June 09 for a lunch meeting and was double charged on my credit card for our meal. A young woman with dark curly hair was our server. She seated us and took our orders but her attentiveness and communication skills were terrible. She doesnt really listen to anything anybody says and is super defensive at all times. She is maybe 25, has a very condescending attitude and her overall customer service is straight up TERRIBLE. Totally wouldn't go back strictly due to her.\r \r As far as my credit card goes, I called 3 times and one of those calls I spoke directly to the owner who assured me he would take care of it...yet as I'm writing this I still have not seen my card reimbursed. I went in in person tonight and the same server was there tried to tell me there was nothing she could do to help and I'd have to come back a week later and talk to the owner. Again, super unhelpful and just plain weird vibes from this girl. Another waitress who was younger and way more attractive came over and was a lot more helpful. Even as this other girl was trying to help me, the tall server was all in my face trying to bogard (sic) the situation trying to tell me like it was. The younger server gave me a look while the tall one was talking like ""ignore her, shes crazy""... after that, I just turned my back on her. Its like she's a total control freak or somehting that is super insescure and she was offended that I didn't just take her at her word and leave. All I want is my money back for being double charged!!!! Is that too much to ask????? All the other girls in there understood and were way more helpful and sincere. However, not the tall server. SHE IS REALLY BAD SHE NEEDS TO BE FIRED ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!\r \r On the brighter side, the food here is amazing!!!! Pros: food Cons: my credit card was double charged, service more

PAY IN CASH ONLY !!! 4/14/2009

I have eaten here many times, over the years, and usually the service is very poor. I had been willing to overlook the crappy service, because I LOVE the "" La Fontana's"" but, the last time, I ate there my card was double charged, I contacted the owner "" Timur "" and he said he would fix it. Well, he never did "" I had to file a fraud claim with my bank to get reimbursed"" So, if your expectations, of getting decent service, are low and, you have cash on hand.. they do have really good gyros. Pros: delicious gyro's Cons: horrible service, double charged, dishonest owner more

Not bad for an Saturday evening out 11/14/2008

A group of us girls went there for a birthday celebration on a Saturday /We called ahead and our table was ready when we arrived. It was busy and noisy, fine for us semi-rowdy group of 40+ women. The belly dancer was entertaining and spent alot of time dancing on top of our table. The food came at a normal pace and was quite tasty. The wine was enjoyable as well. Parking was no problem, we found on street parking a block away. I would probably go back if i lived closer to the restaurant, but id still recommend it for a fun enjoyable evening. Pros: Casual, good food. Cons: busy, noisy. atmosphere is so-so more

Save your money!!! 8/15/2008

My husband and I managed a rare evening away from our toddler. We headed to a Olive You wanting to stay close to home. \r It claims to be open late and serve dinner until closing. \r Upon entering we were told that they were not cooking anymore tonight, about an hour before closing, and that we could have something out of the display cases. Everything in the cases looked picked over and old. \r We said no thanks and headed over to Romio's and had lovely dinner, hot and served late.\r We love Romios! \r We tried ordering take out from Olive You and the order was wrong and missing key ingredients. \r I would avoid this restaurant. Rencently they moved their tables out over the entire sidewalk so their is no place to walk past their restaurant. Pros: None come to mind Cons: Service or lack therof, bad food, lazy staff more

What a disaster! 11/18/2007

My husband took me to Olive You for my birthday, thinking we could get a quick bite before a show. No such luck! After being told to seat ourselves, our waitress brought menus to the table without so much as a ""Hi"". We ordered drinks, which ended up sitting on the bar while the waitress sat behind the counter eating a snack. We ordered an appetizer of baba ghanouj and it arrived with a pile of cold pita bread (menu said it would be grilled). While waiting for our meal, both my husband and I visited the restroom, which is a shared facility with one or two other businesses in the same building. My husband reported that the men's room was dirty and disgusting AND the toilet seat fell off. The women's room had no toilet paper. After we returned to the table, we waited and waited and waited for our meal. The waitress left our empty appetizer plate on the table. We also noticed during this time that there was a large puddle of water forming in the middle of the restaurant floor. A customer had to alert the staff of the situation. That waiter then brought out a dirty bucket and mop, which he ended up leaving in the middle of the floor as the puddle continued to grow. After about 30 minutes from the time we ordered, my husband told the waitress we were on our way to a show and asked how much longer the entrees would be. She asked the chef, who was just on the other side of the counter from our table. He told her it would be 10 more minutes. He had not even started cooking our food! He then tried to get us to order something else that wouldn't take quite as long. We told the waitress that we would have to cancel our order and left hungry. At that point we heard the chef yell, ""Cancel the chicken souvlaki,"" in an irritated tone.\r \r Needless to say, we will not go back! We recommend you bypass Olive You and head a little further south to Gorgeous George's for great service and excellent Mediterranean cuisine. more

Tasty, tasty Greek food 11/11/2007

I love the food at Olive You. It's flavorful and well-seasoned, not over the top with gratuitous spices. I have pretty much had the tapas items each time and have loved all of them. I see complaints about the service in other reviews, but we've been there twice and service has been just fine. We'll definitely be back for more tasty food! Pros: big, tasty appetizers (we get two or three for two people to make a meal), free parking. more

Pleasant surprise 11/1/2007

I work nearby and I've eaten lunch at Olive You several times. Each time the food has been good but the service has been mediocre. So when some coworkers and I went there for an early dinner last night, I had high expectations for the quality of the food and fairly low expectations for the quality of the service. But the entire experience was fantastic; the Georgian (the country, not the state) wine recommended by our server was wonderful as well as exotic, the meal selection at dinner is much better than the one at lunch and our server was attentive and respectful. My coworkers and I now plan to make post work outings to Olive You a regular occurrence. Pros: Food, wine selection, service Cons: some of the deli items look like they're well past their shelf life more

I wouldn`t go back if it was free. 9/7/2007

Dry meat, stale bread, over ripe half frozen veg, terrible service! I really have no idea why anyone would go there twice. I know I won't. Cons: food and service more

Worst service ever 7/24/2007

It was my second visit to Olive You. First time was for lunch and it was pretty good, so went back for dinner and it was totally WRONG. We had to stay there for two hours on a weekday night. The bartender took 30 min to stir simple martini, and I have never had sweet lime tasted dirty martini in my life. I understand that it could be hard to run the kitchen by only one chef, but I was just irritated to listen to the excuses of these waiters saying 'we're making it from scratch!' all over and over. I think myself as a fairly general tipper, always leaving 20 to 25%, but it was first time for me to leave 10% for $90 bill. I don't go back there ever again. Pros: Food Cons: Service more

Worst Service- good food 7/1/2007

Let me say that I LOVE the food here. It is quality cuisine for a good price. \r I eat here at least once a week.\r However, eating at Olive You is not a great experience. The staff are mediocre and \r unconcerned. In response to this, I tried ordering in twice.\r The first time, I got a bag with oil and food spilled everywhere.\r The second time, I got the wrong entree and they forgot another order.\r When I called, the waitresses argued with me, switched me to one another and\r did not reimburse me for my wrong meal.\r Although I love the food, I do not see myself eating here again.\r It is not worth the headache. Pros: Great cooks Cons: POOR service, owner is a creep more

Creepy rude atmosphere 6/6/2007

Terrible, rude service and outright dishonesty doesn't help the midiocre food and ambiance here. \r I've given this place several oppurtunities but no more. \r Every time I've gone there has been something wrong with our orders and the last time I used a entertainment book coupon for a free entree with purchase of another entree. \r Instead of discountin my girlfreinds entree they took off for a 3$ appetizer. When I pointed this out to my server she was disinterested to the point of rude. \r The owner, ""Timur' was staring at my girlfreinds breast and winking and flirting with a table of teenage girls nearby. What a creep! more

Excellent food & service 5/30/2007

Got pulled in by the live bluegrass music on a warm summer night. Stayed for the good energy & friendly staff & owner. Fell in love with Amy, the red-headed waitress. Say hi to Amy for me.\r \r Food was excellent; service was prompt. There was some confusion about the bill, but I'd been drifting around & Amy made it good.\r \r I enjoyed the owner's pride in his product. Saw nothing but happy faces.\r \r Ted Pros: Excellent food Cons: Some chaos around cash register. But consider it art--not science. more
