I love The Olive Garden restaurant! And I love everything about it, not just the food but even the way its decorated. It's just a comfortable place for me.
Through the years, my family and I or my friends and I have all ended up at The Olive Garden. We go there to eat and then we sit and visit, sometimes for several hours. We've become familiar to the servers and sometimes they become new friends. Which makes your service that much better!!
One of my favorite foods at The Olive Garden has been their eggplant parmigiana. It tastes yummy. Breaded, then fried slices of eggplant with sauce and mozzarella cheese. It comes with spaghetti but you can ask to substitute any of their side dishes for that at no additional cost. You also get the all-you-can-eat soup or salad and bread sticks. I think the eggplant is one of the cheapest things on their menu. I am unsure of the exact price because its gone up in price quite a bit from when I first started ordering it years and years ago. It used to cost only $4.75 but that isn't the price anymore!! When you get the lunch size, it's cheaper and has two slices of eggplant, at dinner, the price is more but you get four slices of eggplant. I have been able to order the lunch size at dinner time but you have to ask and sometimes they don't want to do it.
Another menu item that I like is the chicken parmigiana. It's just like the eggplant except that it is chicken. It's very yummy. One menu item that The Olive Garden took off their menu a few years ago was the lunch chicken parmigiana sandwich. It was so good and I miss it, boo hoo!
Another favorite menu item is the fettuccine alfredo. The Olive Garden has the best alfredo sauce that I have ever tasted! I think it must be loaded with butter and cream and calories because its pretty close to heaven! When I or my daughter order the fettuccine alfredo, we substitute the angel hair pasta for the fettuccine noodles. We just like the smaller noodles better. And you absolutely have to order some of the alfredo sauce to dip your bread sticks into. Oh, I think that I am drooling....
I have had bad experiences at The Olive Garden before. Sometimes there will be a server that is just terrible. So, I make a note to remember their name and the next time I go in, I make sure that I do NOT have that server ever again. They usually are not there long anyway since I guess they give others bad service too.
Once in a while, the food will not be quite as good as it should be but usually the food is just right. If there is a problem with the food, they are very good about making it right for you. They want you to enjoy your food so that you will come back.
I'm always nice about any problem that I may have at The Olive Garden [or at any place I am for that matter] which I guess some people are not. I have been told some pretty amazing stories about how rude people can be. I just don't understand that!
When I go on out-of-town trips [which I hardly ever do!], I look up the local Olive Garden so that I can eat there. I like that the food is consistent at all The Olive Garden restaurants and I like going with the familiar so that I know what to expect. I've been to Olive Gardens from Fresno down to San Diego and along the coast. I've really enjoyed those good times!
The Olive Garden menu prices are comparable to most restaurants and they do have specials sometimes. The never-ending pasta bowl is a great meal for a great price when they have it.
If you get a chance, check out The Olive Garden in your area [if they have one]. They also have a website you can visit.
